True Culprit

"Dylan... it's all your fault!"

Charlotte's words struck me like a lightning bolt. "My fault?" I asked in shock.

"I hate.....you, Dylan. I hate....you," she screamed, her voice filled with anguish and anger. Her eyes were red and swollen from crying, and her whole body trembled with emotion.

"How could you both take my baby away from me? I won't have troubled you about taking care of him. I was capable to do so," Charlotte cried out, her voice cracking with desperation. "He was my only hope, the only gift I have gotten from you, Dylan, the only gift I got after your family's maltreatment and abuse, all the abuse I got from them. He was my only hope in getting over everything."

Tears streamed down her face as she continued, her voice rising to a fever pitch. "Why did you and Allison take him away from me? Why can't I be happy, Dylan... I hate...you," she screamed in anger, her words echoing in the hospital room.
