Lost the Baby

"What baby?" I repeated, but all I could hear in response were sobs. "Where is she? Which hospital?" I urgently asked.

"At City General," Angela replied before abruptly ending the call.

I hurried to the hospital and made my way to the operating room, where I found Nathan and Angela standing in front. "What baby?" I halted in my tracks to ask once more. Angela and Nathan turned to look at me, and before Angela could respond, the operation room door swung open, and the doctor emerged.

"Doctor Stephen, what happened? How is my sister and the baby?" Nathan inquired anxiously.

I was stunned to the core. A baby? Is Charlotte pregnant? I asked myself in shock, my mind racing with unanswered questions.

"Who is the father?" Doctor Stephen asked Nathan, his gaze fixed on him. Nathan turned and pointed to me. "He is the father," Nathan replied, casting a solemn glance in my direction. Confusion and disbelief clouded my mind as I struggled to comprehend what was unfolding.
