Her Sly Smile

I gazed at Grandma Adaline, then at my mom and Sonia, feeling a wave of uncertainty over me. What should I say? Should I confess that I hadn't taken a test and was simply going by my intuition about being pregnant? Would they believe me? As the silent tension lingered, I mustered a smile and addressed Grandma Adaline.

"Grandma Adaline, what's the importance of a test result? I know I'm pregnant, and that's what truly matters, right?" I suggested, attempting to deflect the need for concrete evidence.

"I understand, dear. But I need to see the test results for my own certainty. If I were to tell my kids and grandkids about your pregnancy, they would undoubtedly ask for the test results to be sure," Grandma Adaline explained, her words carrying responsibility and concern.

Her insistence on verification left me pondering how to solve the situation.
