Rachel's heart tightened. Why did Maxwell still treat her so coldly knowing that Jennifer was using him?

"As… As long as we are innocent, why should we be afraid of some rumors?" Rachel feigned innocence. "I'm not afraid of what others say about me. I've always loved you."

Maxwell turned around and studied her. "You seem fine now. When do you plan to leave? I'll have Michael book your plane ticket."

Rachel's jaw dropped. "You're still going to send me abroad? Maxwell, you know she doesn't love you. The only one who truly loves you is me. Why do you want to hurt someone who loves you?"

"I know how Jennifer feels best," Maxwell said. "You don't need to keep reminding me! I know what I'm doing."

Tears streamed down Rachel's face. "Maxwell, you are the cruelest and most heartless man I've ever met!"

With that, she turned and ran out of the office, crying.

Maxwell rubbed his temple and sighed in relief.
