Chapter hundred

Meanwhile in the city of Serenity…..

Hope's POV

My study session was interrupted when a young kid, about fifteen or so, barged into my patio followed by the guard from downstairs.

I was sitting down monk style, with my legs folded and my hands placed up facing the clouds. I called it my meditation period.

I spend it meditating, going through the events of the past days, ruminating on my choices, decisions, and life generally.

It's an hour I carved out of my schedule once or three times a week and everybody knows not to interrupt me by that time.

Unless it's extremely important…emphasis on extremely.

The guard takes hold of the kid about to forcefully drag him out of the room.

So, I closed my eyes and prepared to sink back into that relaxed state that I'm in, when yelling reaches my ears.

I ignored it of course, or tried to but when I couldn't stand it anymore my eyes popped open.

I saw the guard and the boy yelling at each other, up in each other's faces screwing their heads out.
