The Wedding
“Helena, promise me you’re going to be fine in this marriage”. Gabriel said given me a concerned look
“I hope so too”. I responded because I wasn’t sure of what hope was in my new home and forced husband.
"And hey, you will tell me how your first night with your darling husband went". He pulls me cheek softly
"Stop it Gabriel. Isn't that gross to your hearing? Jeez- what kind of girl calls her male friend at 6am to discuss her first night with her husband? Ewwwwww!
"Helena is that kind of girl", he says as he hands me the earrings.
"Meanwhile, you look amazingly ravishing in your wedding dress and I wish the bastard out there would transform into a totally different person who deserves all this goodness". He pouts his lip like he was going to cry.
"That luscious hunk", he muttered under his breath.
Gabriel, you worry too much. Look, nothing is going to happen between that jerk and me. Okay, nothing will happen the way you're imagining things now, I assured him while wearing those diamond earrings I imparted. Then went on to struggle with her zipper. Gabriel and I were alone in the room.
“Why don't you let me help you with your zip?”
“No”.
“Why not? C’mon turn around, you know if this was a proper wedding I would have been your chief-brides-maid”.
They both laugh at his silly joke.
“You’re not a lady,” I reminded him quickly.
“Well, all for you my dearest childhood friend”. He held my shoulders and turned me around, then went on to work on my zipper.
I blushed after he had finished and went closer to the mirror and began to sob. I wept because I missed my mom and together she would have been here in this room, the both of us and maybe it would have been a wedding to a more honorable man that would make a decent woman out of me. Not that Jerk called Alexander.
“Hey…hey…not today dear darling. You are going to ruin your makeup and moreover you have a host of guests out there waiting to see your radiance”. He comforted her then wiped her tears with the napkin from his breast pocket.
The short tap on the door made him move a few steps away from her.
"The guests are waiting for you" her father informed as he walked into the room. She gave her short smile then kissed her on the head before leading her out to meet the guests.
Helena had always wanted a small wedding with family and friends or a yacht with the love of her life not this shit hole she finds herself in. Alexander’s mother had organized the wedding herself to her own taste without considering what i really like. She even chose my wedding dress but thank goodness she has a very high taste when it comes to fashion and accessories.
Gabriel helped me with the helm of the dress as my father led me out by the arm to meet the groom in the hall.
The hall was decorated with very beautiful colors and the isle had a red rug spread through till where her groom was standing. Helena surveyed him from head to toe, he had the perfect look for a perfect groom. He gave her a fake smile the moment she got in front of him, I lowered my eyes not knowing what reaction to give him at this point. I couldn’t wait for the entire ceremony to end so I can live my life again. Oh! Sorry she forgot, for the next two years I will have to live my life to please this monster standing in front of me posing to be my husband.
ALEXANDER’S POV
We had finished taking their vows as the guests were served their refreshment already just then I saw Sophia approach the door, she was dressed in a stunning sequin black dress. I got up from my seat to meet a lady who had just walked in through the door.
“What do you want here?” I asked her with clenched teeth, speaking in a tone that seemed forced under his breath.
“I came to see you, as soon as I got the information about your wedding”, Sophia responded in a sober tone.
Why didn’t you inform me about your wedding?
“It was an impromptu plan, I never planned on marrying her today, I stated”.
Well an impromptu call wouldn't have killed anyone right.
“Sophia you're here so what now?”
After a long pause…
You must leave at once I said grabbing her by the arm
But why?
Because... you are not wanted here I replied bluntly.
She chuckled. That's her right? Your newly married wife. Oh! Poor thing, she exclaimed, shaking her head.
“Does she really know who you are before agreeing to marry you? She doesn't even look happy...”
“Enough Sophia you must leave now I said to her and forced a smile while signaling my two body guards to see her out of the hall.
“I want you Alex, it should be me and not her, you promised me a beach trip to Miami this weekend and here you are getting wedded!” She yelled in his face not minding if the guests were watching.
“Say one more word and I would ask these men to throw you out like a thief”. I threatened her and she kept shut.
“Leave this place at once”. I’ll call you when I need you" I dead panned and walked out on her. The two guards he assigned to her saw her off till she was out of the hall.
“Who was that?” My mother asked the moment I went over to her table to greet the representatives from BINGOS CONGLOMERATE who had come to grace the wonderful occasion.
“Nobody actually”. Just some guest, you know... nothing more. I shrugged my shoulders. Then brushed past her without letting her spew out the venom she has prepared in her mouth to lash out
“I know my mother wouldn't buy that lie on a normal day?” I was surprised she didn’t argue or try to create a scene as usual and I was thankful she didn’t. Obviously she didn’t want to create a scene since our guests were still enjoying themselves. I walked majestically back to the special seat on the podium made for my newly wedded wife and I. I was just half way close to the seat when the young man who had been talking to her the moment I left stood up and began walking away. I watched him disappear into the crowd until I lost a view of him. Helena sat and watched my eyes the entire time but didn’t say a word to bring me out of my truce. I didn’t bother that much about the guys’ presence after all she isn’t my wife but if she has to keep living under my roof as my wife then certain people in her life will be restrained from gaining access and that includes her father.
Yes, her Father too.
Hi . my wonderful readers kindly leave your comments after each chapter. I promise to take you through exciting chapters till the end.
HELENA’S POVI was already exhausted by the time the reception was over. The wedding was an elaborate one panned by the queen herself. I had to pretend all was fine so the guests don’t suspect anything. During the couples’ dance I was nervous and lost in my thoughts. Alexander had quickly sprang up to his feet when they announced that it was time for the couple to dance. I was shy and nervous. I searched my father’s face from my sitting position. He gave me a nod and signaled me to smile, I smiled as he had instructed. I didn’t want to spoil things for my father as well for the Stones because it would rain fire and brimstone on my family. When we finished Mrs. Stone asked the driver to take me back to Alexander’s mansion. That was when the reality of not being with father and my friend Gabriel dawned on me. I had no other person to talk to asides these two. I examined the mansion the moment the car pulled over at the garage. Its environs was massive just like the ones I had seen in
ALEXANDERS POVI watched her scream and run to get what to cover her nakedness. When she didn’t see anything good enough she settled on the bed to cover her butt with the helm 0f the dress leaving her boobs open. They were a perfect size, full and succulent, I could suck on them a whole day if they let me. This was my supposed wedding night, a horrible idea to start with. Here I am looking at a woman I can’t touch, she just wasn’t my spec. She had the perfect body and boob size, with curves and thickness but I wasn’t going to get close. She is a wife on paper, not on my bed."What the hell are you looking at?" She yelled at me and threw the little bedside pillow on my face as I stood frozen looking at the savor of her body and thinking what I could do to that goodness.I snapped the thought out of my mind when the pillow hit my face and fell to the ground."It’s my house and I can enter any room I like at any time". I responded arrogantly, my eyes still fixed on her huge boobs. Just t
HELENA’S POVThe sun poured in through my window. My first day as a paper wife had just unfolded. The stress from acting like I was happy with the whole marriage stuff. The moment I fell on my new orthopedic bed I knew I needed to let my body savor the massiveness of the space. I rolled from one end to the other with no single fear of tripping off like I would have done on the bed I had in my father’s house. The feeling this gave me was just imaginable and I can’t even remember if I had any dreams. I was exhausted. The gleam of the light saturated the entire room. I scoured my blurry eyes and strolled to the window. There was a slippery sparkle overhead. The main beams of daylight illuminated the room in its vastness. The sunrise tune of Melodic bird songs sailed in as the rising sun cast a ruddy tint across the morning sky. Brilliant fingers of daylight adorned the scene. The blue sky also speckled with a fleecy white mist that floated lavishly in the delicate breeze. The air from th
HELENA POV I woke up very early to pack my things into the little traveling bag I had inherited from mom. I knew I was going to need a few more clothes since we would be spending about two weeks on this trip. I mean two whole wasted weeks with a man. I can't stand his rudeness. My phone began to ring a few minutes after and I hurriedly answered the call. Hi Helena, trust you sleep well, Gabriel asked from the other end of the phone. Sure, I responded happily. I always had a kind of happiness I couldn’t control whenever I was speaking to Gabriel. Guess what I said, What, you too are in love now? Hell no! Then what is it? "Gabriel, why don’t you just calm down and listen to what I have to tell you". "Alright go ahead". He answered "Alexander and I are going on a honeymoon , can you imagine?". "What he asked in a surprise tone". "His mother kept calling to remind him about and when he gave her reluctant answers she picked a date herself. I am so not comfortable with this plan
ALEXANDER'S POVIdeally I would go on a honeymoon with my wife to have fun to cherish and to hold but this isn’t it? I don’t want to ruin my mother’s plans and her greatest hope of making me the richest man in the entire world. I headed straight for the elevator and punched in the fourth floor since our rooms were just at the opposite. Helena joined me in the elevator a few minutes later. We got to the 4th floor in silence. I moved to my room and she moved to hers without a word.A few minutes later, I heard a knock on my door. I got up to open the door, still dressed in my suit. "What do you want?""Well, I’m here to talk to you""About what exactly?"Are you letting me in or not? She asked. I made way for her to pass through. When she got into the room she examined it for a while before revealing the reason she came."Well, I just want to ask why you booked an extra room for me""Is there a problem with that?""Is there not?"She asked "You don’t question my decisions okay. I’
HELENA'S POV By the time I got into the apartment from my little tour with my new found friend I was happy I didn’t go to the party with Alexander. Liam, walked me in through the lobby and when we got to the front of my room. We stopped to bid each other good night. I couldn’t stop smiling as he spoke to me with so much ease and respect. Good night Helena he said as he turned to live, Good night I said to him and just when I was about to leave Alexander’s door opened before us. The lady came out first and Alexander followed behind smiling but the smile soon disappeared the moment he saw Liam and I standing side by side at the door opposite his. The lady flaunted herself in a stylish manner and walked past us. Alexander and Liam locked eyes for a few moments then Liam excused himself leaving me all alone with Alexander. I turned around to move into my room and suddenly there was a firm grip on my arm. Let me go, I screamed. And as I struggled with the grip it went worse and tight
HELENA’S POVOur two weeks of forced honeymoon had passed. We returned immediately after the date elapsed because Alexander needed to go for a serious business conference with his biggest investors and the reason why we are both in this shit hole called a marriage. I had to continue my duty as an unwanted wife. And with the way Alexander treated me back at the hotel in Canada I have vowed to stay on my own and not interfere in his business. I had no one to pour out my heart to except Gabriel who is prohibited from visiting me in this mansion. My dad comes to lawn the grasses and trim the flowers only when they are due. I was trapped, locked and imprisoned for some foolish reasons. I know it's Isabella’s plot to enslave my family forever. My father who has a terminal illness needs my care at this point but I’m not available to look after the only man who has given me shelter all these years. I owed him life. This week I was going to do things that made me happy; to totally ignore the
I held my face in my hand as I tried to reminisce on what had just happened. She dared to lay her hands on me. Alexander stood and watched as the tears began to stream down my face. I walked out on the birth of them. The moment I entered my room my phone began to ring, my was the one calling. I hesitated to answer the call but owing to the fact that I had not spoken to him for almost a week made me answer the call without first thinking about the consequences. I sniffed in the liquid that had formed in my nose as a result of the cry. "Hello Helena are you there?""I’m here dad", responded after pausing for a few minutes. My voice shook as I spoke on the phone. Is there a problem?"No, dad,I'm fine""That doesn’t answer my question Helena". "Talk to me, what is the problem?"I began to cry into the phone. I didn’t know how to begin or how to tell my father I was tired and feed up with this shit hole called a marriage. I was so confused and kept asking myself why a mother and son could
