Bruised

A yawn left her mouth as Serenity lifted her head from the table. She stretched her arms. Resting her head on them caused ache to permeate through them. Her head felt heavy while she checked her phone to read the time.

It was around two at night.

Serenity turned her head to find that the window was open. The darkness outside fell into her line of sight, and there was a huge, mysterious forest on the horizon. The wind blew in, causing the curtain to dance, along with carrying the cries of various night creatures.

Chill travelled down Serenity's spine, finding this to be a little creepy.

Knowing that her thoughts would lead to her heart failing, she immediately got on her feet and decided to get out of this room. Thinking about how she was the only one on this floor made her even more frightened.

She gulped and grabbed her phone. Taking large strides out of the room, she didn't bother to look back, feeling that there was a monster chasing after her.
