CHOICELESS; I wish I am me

'you must marry Leo or else, you will leave me with no other choice than to disown you.' were the exact words of her dad.

Angela stood in front of her window, gazing into the cloudy blue sky from the third floor of her room. 

She couldn't fathom abandoning the one she loves with everything in her. Her world has crumbled.

Remembering how she had promised to spend her forever with him, breaks her heart.

Immediately, her door opened quietly as her mum walked in.

"I want to be left alone mum," Angela uttered. Her voice was cold.

"You need to calm down dear." Her mum replied as she took some steps closer to her.

Placing her hand on Angela's shoulder, she continued. "Your dad wants to see you downstairs."

"What for?" She asked.

"Leo is downstairs, he wants to have a lunch date with you." Her mum explained.

Angela turned, facing her mum. "I don't want to, mum. Why can't you and Dad understand that I have a man I'm deeply in love with?" She questioned, fighting the tears that welled in her eyes.

"I bet you don't want to go against your dad's decision?" Her mum questioned. 

As much as I would want to allow you to settle for the one you truly love, I have no say in this. You know what your dad is capable of when he's upset, and I guess you wouldn't want to experience that side of him." She explained further.

Her words were just like an explosive inside Angela. She was never allowed to make her own decisions.

"Put on something nice. Apply some make-up too. I guess you wouldn't want Leo to see you in this condition." Her mum said as she walked to the door.

"And don't forget to put on a smile." She added, in what seemed to be a whisper. She winked at her before finally opened the door; and left.

Angela sat down slowly, on a couch close to her bed. The fact that she is being sold out to a man she had never seen in her life, made her heart bleed.

Leo is the Mayor's son. He had seen Angela's photo when he and his dad had visited her dad for a business meeting.

Seeing how beautiful she was, he decided to extend his relationship with her dad from just a mere business partner, to a family member through marriage.

Her dad, knowing what he stand to gain, decided to go for what Leo wanted, to lay hold of his wealth; and also give his hospital a household name. 

Angela donned her white body-fitted dress which brought out her hips and boobs. She added red lipstick to her already red lips.

As much as that wasn't what she had wanted for herself, she needs to put in her best effort to avoid her dad's wrath.

She combed her long dark curly hair. Taking in a deep breath, she wore a false smile as she cat worked downstairs on her blood heels.

Getting to the sitting room where Leo and her parents were seated, she became nervous, as she could hear their chants. 

She could also hear how they all guffawed together as if Leo had been a family member for long.

She stood rooted for the moment. Practicing her 'breath in and out' exercise, just to put herself together.  

Opening the door gently, she entered the sitting room afterward.
