Big Mistake

ARIA’S POV.

It turned out Aiden was right, but I didn't let him know about it. He came out from the trees, and I blinked, looking away. I was too ashamed of myself to let him know that he had been right, and that I had been stupid.

I sighed.

“I'm sorry. For getting really mad at you.” I said, tangling my fingers together.

“No, it's fine. It's totally fine, it's completely okay. I'm just glad you're not mad anymore.” He said, coming closer to me, and I gave a wry smile. “Wanna go home?” He asked, holding out his hand.

“I think I'd rather stay out here for a little longer. You can just, you know, follow me from behind, or watch me in case anything bad happens.” I said, tucking my hair behind my ear, and he let his hand fall slowly.

“What bad thing could possibly happen?” He asked, and I smiled.

“I guess I want you to stay, but I also want to be alone for a while.” I said, and he nodded.

“Go on, I'll be right behind.” He said, gesturing that I could leave. I nodded, and turned, walk
