Hurting

ARIA'S POV.

“We just need to get past them, and find the portal. They're not that hard to outrun!” Adan said, turning, and running.

“Alright!” I replied shakily, as we ran hand in hand, from the mass of black scorpions.

They crawled over themselves, making strange clicking noises as they tumbled forth.

My heart was crazed. If they happened to catch up with us, we would get stung by almost all of them, and that would mean getting filled up with poison.

“Damn! I don't think we can use our abilities!” Aiden shouted, and I realized we were running at the speed humans recognized as fast, but slow to Lycans and wolves.

“Damn it!” I shouted, trying to run as fast as I could to avoid getting caught by the scorpions. I couldn't imagine what would happen if they happened to lay their nasty pincers on me. There was no way my wolf speed wouldn't kick in. Not when I needed it the most.

“It doesn't work. Don't even bother.” Aiden shouted, and I looked back at the scorpions, and screamed.
