KADEN’s POV

I glanced at the clock on my dashboard for what felt

like the hundredth time that morning. 7:45 am. If I didn't get moving right this second, I was going to be late for work. I shoved the last of my bagel in my mouth as I rushed to gather my things. Briefcase, laptop bag, jacket - check, check, check.

I bounded down the front steps two at a time until I bumped into someone.

"Watch it!" a voice snapped at me.

Cameron. Of course it had to be him to further delay my morning. I steadied myself and looked up to meet his steely gaze. "Maybe you should watch where you’re going too,bro.”

His eyes drifted down to the glossy hardwood floor where something small and wrapped in satin had fallen out of my jacket pocket in the collision . He bent to pick it up just as I noticed.

"What do we have here?" Cameron frowned slightly, holding up the delicate opal bracelet by its chain.

That was Serena's bracelet I was planning to return to her after texting her moments ago if it was okay
