CH 2

Jane Duncan's POV

"So we have all sorts of drinks and food here but there are no local foods available. Oh and also Fridays are free lunch for everyone"

"Really?" I asked, surprised.

"Yep. It was introduced by Mr Anderson like three years ago. At least that's what I heard." he says making emphasis on 'heard'.

"Him?"

"He doesn't look like it but he really cares about the employees in this company. He's the favourite of all the employees here."

I'm shocked. I mean, I would never have believed him if I did think he would lie to me. I mean, the guy didn't even smile once to show his perfect set of teeth I definitely think he has.

All he did was glare at me although I know I deserved that because I was late.

"I hope you don't mind if I ask what position he holds in the company. It's just that I was so nervous that I didn't bother to check."

"Are you kidding me? You came for an interview without doing your research first. You are truly marvellous."

"Hey! It wasn't my fault okay? I was busy the whole week and I got late because of some rich snob" I practically yell already annoyed at him.

"Okay, okay cool down. Since I'm a very kind and generous person I'll tell you" he says raising his in surrender.

I rolled my eyes as he said this. The guy was so full of himself.  How big could his ego be?

"He's the production manager but Mr France assigned delegated him to be in charge of recruiting people. Apparently, they say Mr Anderson's father and Mr France are very close friends"

"So you're saying he got that position because of his connection with Mr France?"

"I don't know okay but that's what I heard" he was whispering so no one would hear our conversation.

"How do you even hear these things? Are you like the gossip mill here or what?"

"Hey! It's not my fault that everyone comes to me when they hear something they shouldn't have heard."

I burst into laughter, " Really? Is that what happens here? So like everyone comes to you when their mouths are itching them. This is too hilarious" I couldn't stop myself from laughing. I laughed so hard that my stomach started to hurt and all he did was stare at me with an unreadable expression on his face.

Two minutes later and I'd finally calmed down.

" Are you done?" He asked looking annoyed.

"Yep I'm done"

He starts working out of the canteen without saying a word. Guess I really did bruise his ego. It's not my fault he is such a blabbermouth.

"Hey wait up, hey!", he ignored me.

"Oh c'mon. Okay, I'm sorry for laughing at you. I didn't know you were so sensitive?"

He turned around and glared at me." I'm not sensitive, okay " His voice broke as he said this and I realized I'd hurt his feelings.

"Justin, I'm sorry for laughing at you. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings or imply that you have friends only because you like to gossip. I'm really sorry"

"It's okay don't mind me. It's just that sometimes I get really sensitive. Guess you're right. Well, let's continue our tour then milady."

"Of course. lead the way.
