Forty eight: I'll do it

The thought that could poof into my head, was going on my knees and begging this irritating dude to spare us. Now, I understood why mom wanted us to leave the country as soon as possible. But, the irritating thing was, why the heck were we running away from a criminal? Criminals were the ones who ought to leave, not us!

"Scott, at this point, you should know that this isn't possible. I've been guiding my late husband's possession since God-knows-when," Mom sputtered, glowering at him. "So, please, forget about the filthy necklace."

"I. Won't." He spat out. 

She scorned at him. "Then let's see how you'll get it. In two hours, your twenty-five years bet will diminish. John will lose all the money to the betting company, while you'll get nothing!"

"I swear, I'll kill you." He moved close to her, jerked her jaw, pulled my darling mom up. I could kill him as well!
