Forty one: Soon

Particularly, I had told Roy to drop me at Mom's place because I wanted to speak with her. Also, I was scared of staying alone in that house. At this point, it was time I began to care about my security. Clearly, staying alone there wasn't so safe for me. 

"When will Roy return?" Mom dropped the last plate of meatballs on the left side of the table, and balanced my meal with a glass of orange juice. 

"Soon. And thanks for this delicious meal," I appreciated. Taking a meatball, I threw it into my mouth, sighed on tasting it, and fixed my gaze at her. "Ma, we've gotta talk." I spoke amid a mouthful of meatballs. 

She sat by the other side of the table. Since mom and I grew up alone, there were only two chairs on this small dining table. When Melissa and Lisa had been living with us, we had two extra seats on the table. But now they were gone, the table only had a seat for mom and me.
