Seventeen: Dilemma

Mom didn't get her eyes off me. She was crying, smiling at the same time. In order to not worsen how bad she felt, I just smiled warmly at her. 

"Can you stop crying now?" I proposed. 

She rubbed her palm against her eyes, sniffing. "You must be so hurt. I'm so sorry for that, dear."

I swallowed my tears, and nodded. "Yeah, but… it'll be fine. There's no need for you to worry about me."

She took my hands, inhaled. "Honey, I get what's going on, and I understand that you aren't willing to forgive him. But, don't you think it's not fine for you to just conclude on your relationship with him so quickly? I mean, he said nothing happened between him and that girl, right?"
