CHAPTER 63

ZOILA'S POV

The body had already been moved to the hospital's morgue and true to what Keith said, there was nothing on the body to identify him with. The substance he had swallowed had been hidden in his necklace, a gold chain with a small locket in it. It contained a pill that had been wrapped in a small pack and folded inside the locket.

"Were you able to question him at all?" I asked Keith as we stood over the body on the examination table.

"He wouldn't say anything. He said he was only doing his job and has no grudge against the target."

"So he's definitely a hitman. I'm sure he's been doing this for a living."

"I guess it's some sort of code, to kill themselves before any word is gotten out of them. I mean, he had the drug with him the whole time in case he gets caught and he didn't hesitate to take it."

"You're right, definitely. If he had gotten better and was taken to the station for questioning, we could have found out who sent him somehow. So now we've got nothing
