Chapter Seven

Rora and Theo become instant friends. Jolene finds herself getting a little jealous. She doesn’t understand why he doesn’t want to be her friend. Luna and Jolene are riding together again. Rora was able to talk him into riding with her.

Luna can’t stop talking about him, “I can’t believe he’s so handsome. I heard stories, but they do not compare.”

She laughs, but Jolene just remains quiet.

Luna continues, “I can’t believe out of all of us that it’s Rora he has taken to.”

She laughs but is getting annoyed by Jolene’s silence, “What’s so quiet? What are you jealous of Rora?”

She laughs, but Jolene's silent answer is more than enough and she gasps, “OMG, you're jealous!”

Jolene shrugs, “Maybe, I'm not sure. I’m happy that she finally had a friend. I just wish that I could have a chance to get to know him too.”

She just stares blankly at Jolene.

Jolene gets frustrated, “Why are you staring at me like that?”

Luna smiles at her, “I think you have a crush on him?”

Jolene laughs, “I don’t know enough about him to have a crush on him.”

Jolene looks out the window and she sees a man staring at her. She can’t explain it, but she can hear his thoughts. He’s asking her to stop and help. She’s never experienced anything like this before.

Abruptly, she shouts, “Pull over!”

Luna is so thrown off that she ablidges her.

Rora isn’t expecting this, so she doesn’t see it and doesn’t pull over right away. Jolene gets out to ask questions and find out what’s going on. Her focus is on the man that was speaking to her through her mind. She doesn’t expect it when someone sneaks up behind her and hits her upside the head.

Luna runs after them, but they are too fast. Rora and Theo run to her in a panic. Luna falls to her knees and is screaming. Rora hugs her sister and comforts her. They watch in amazement as Theo transforms into a werewolf and chases after them.

*Several hours later*

Jolene wakes up and is surprised that she isn’t even tied up. She slowly stands up and she hears that same familiar, unfamiliar voice. She looks around and she sees him, sitting across the room. He’s watching her with a smile on his face.

She takes a step back, “Why have you kidnapped me?”

He smirks, “How else would I get your attention?”

She crosses her arms, “How about saying hi, like a normal person.”

He chuckles, “It's not that easy with your body guards around.”

She doesn't believe him, “What's the real reason?”

He gives her a knowing look and pretends as if she defeated him, “Have you ever heard of Diablo?”

Jolene nods, “The king of the wolves, who doesn't know?”

He studies her closely as he continues, “Did you know that he has a baby?”

She shakes her head, “No, is it a boy or girl?”

He shrugs, “No one knows.”

She rolls her eyes, “What does that have to do with me?”

He tilts his head, “I know you're hiding something.”

Jolene laughs.

He gets upset, “Tell me how you haven't made your first transformation yet, but you already have a wolf?”

“How do you know about my wolf?” Her shock is inevitable.

He admits, “My wolf told me about yours.”

She questions, “How is it that your wolf can sense my wolf, but my wolf can’t sense before wolf? My mate can’t even sense my wolf!”

He laughs, “Your wolf isn’t use to other wolves.”

He chuckles, “Not to mention our wolves are related.”

Jolene is confused, “What?”

He smirks, “I am Diablo’s son, Diablo Jr.”

She kept quiet.

He informs her, “I am your brother. We were conceived on the same night.”

His anger over takes him, “How could you stand her and not want to know me? Forget what dad did, he’s a jerk. What about me, I’m your brother!”

She doesn't get a chance to say anything when he is attacked by a large werewolf. He jumps up and laughs.

In mid shift he taunts, “Looks like your bodyguard finally caught up!”

The wolf attacks him again and the two fight hard. It only lasts for a second before Luna arrives and flings Diablo Jr. Against the wall. With her power, she forces him to shift back into his human form.

Diablo Jr. starts to place the pieces together, “So you are being protected by the queen?”

Luna snarls, “I'm not the queen!”

He argues, “You will always be the queen!”

Rora jokes, “Are you a fan?”

He doesn't try to hide it, “I am.”

Luna gets in his face and places her fingers on his scalp. He squints, squirms, and screams a little. She lets him down and doesn't seem worried about him.

She informs them, “Diablo disowned him a long time ago. He's been raised by witches as well.”

Theo doesn't agree, “He kidnapped her”

Luna nods, “Yes, but his intentions were good. He only wanted to find out if she indeed was his sister.”

Rora is indifferent, “She's right!”

Theo seems disappointed in her.

She asks him, “Do you seriously think any of us would have let him anywhere near her?”

Theo admits, “No, my wolf could smell his the moment we turned onto that road.”

Diablo walks up to Jolene, “I am just happy that I have a sister, that is nice.”

Jolene shrugs, “You're my only brother.”

He shakes his head, “Dad has at least a dozen kids. He could never replace the one he lost..”

Theo cuts him off by shoving him as he walks by and growls, “If you ever pull that again, I will end you!”

Diablo laughs, “Someone has a crush..”

Rora shoves him this time and warns, “tread lightly, outsider.”

He jokes with Luna, “No love?”

Luna giggles, “You have to earn the love.”

He bows to her, “Yes, my queen.”

He can’t control his smile while he walks past her.

Jolene wraps her arm in hers, “He totally has a crush on you!”

Luna blushes, “No..”

They giggle together and gossip, like always.
