ROSS

I walk out of the room in a bid to clear my head. What changed? Why did I suddenly decide not to scare her any longer? Why did my heart soften on seeing her that way? What was awaken in me?

I inhale deeply, climbing down the steps when my phone rings in my pocket.

I bring the phone out and I’m quite taken aback to notice that the caller is my dad.

He never calls unless it important, what could be so important?

I pick up the phone and I’m greeted by his harsh tone.

“I need to see you. I’m giving you only five minutes to arrive at my office.” He hangs up the call and I furrow my brows.

He seems mad, what could he be so mad about?

I head outside the house and I’m greeted by my bodyguards.

“Tell Madeline to take care of Mia till I get back.” I instruct one of them and he nods in understanding.

I walk up to my car and instruct the driver to hand me the keys. Once he does so, I get in the car and zoom off.

I arrive at my dad’s firm with a minute and half to spare. I enter the building
