Chapter Three

He went in and saw Alice in the living room. She looked tired stressed

“Alice, are you okay?” He asked her

“Yeah, it’s not like you care anyways” she said as she got up

“Alice, what is that supposed to mean? You know I care about you. What are you saying?” He said

“Yeah, whatever” she said, walking away.

She leaned against the wall and she tried to balance herself. She groaned a bit, feeling dizzy. It got Jared worried. He had never seen her sick. She was never sick, well, until now. She looked at him and she fell to the ground. He ram to her and caught her. She was completely blue. He looked at Xavier

“Get me a doctor! Now!” he screamed at him

Xavier ran to the car and drove off to find the best one available. Jared carried her to his bed and laid her there. He covered her up, hoping some color would come back to her skin but he was wrong. He didn’t know what to do. He was scared and confused and angry. He had just asked if she was okay and she said he didn’t care about her. Was there something going on with her? Why did she not say something about it to him? What was going on? Had he made it that difficult to talk to him? A lot of questions ran through his head and he was scared as hell. Xavier came back with the doctor and after examining her, he looked at Jared

“What is wrong with her?” Jared asked

“Nothing out of the ordinary. She is pregnant” the doctor said

That caught Jared off guard. Pregnant? How? He remembered that they were used to having unprotected sex and that was probably the only thing that could produce a baby but he hadn’t expected one so soon. He thanked the doctor and the doctor left. He sat by her side. His plans were ruined. He couldn’t send her away now that she was carrying his child. His dreams were coming true but maybe a little to early. He had to find another way to fix whatever the hell was going on with then because he wasn’t going to let her go. He couldn’t let his first child grow up without him. Xavier knew that there would be no cooking after this so he offered to drive around and buy them lunch and maybe dinner.

Jared sat by her side, letting every sex memory replay in his head. She was the best sex partner he had. He was a chronic womanizer before she came into his life and he had stopped that because he realized that there was nobody like her. Nobody felt like her or tasted like her. She was more than enough reason to stop his bad habits and he had stopped them for her and now she was pregnant. 

He didn’t know what to think. Was he happy? Was he sad? Was he scared? He couldn’t say. She let out a quiet moan and she opened her eyes slowly. She saw him sitting beside her. She could tell that he was worried as hell

“You look like you saw a ghost” she said

“Well, you passed out on me. How do you feel?” he asked

“Tired, a little dizzy. What happened?” she asked

“We got a doctor and apparently, you’re pregnant” he said

“I am what?” she asked, surprised

“You heard me the first time. You are pregnant. I don’t know if it is a boy or a girl, it is to early to determine but you’re pregnant” he said

“I, wow. I don’t know what to say. I know you don’t want a baby right now and we are not even married yet. The people would start to say all sorts about you and I don’t want anybody that..”

“Hey, what do you mean by I don’t want a baby right now. I have always wanted a family with you. I have always wanted to have a child with you, Alice and I don’t care who says anything. Whoever has something to say should be bold enough to say whatever it is to my face. The last thing you should be worried about is what someone has to say. It is none of our business and if the issue is we are not married yet, then let’s get married. It is that simple” he said 

“No, it is not” she argued 

“Yes, it is. What do we need to get married? I can have everything in place by next week and all you need to do is show up in a dress and look pretty like you always do and say a couple of words and boom, we are married” he said

“I want you to get married to me because you want to get married to me Jared, not because we are having a child together” she said

That hit him deep

“I know. Just get some rest. I would get everything in place. I need to breathe and think” he said to her

“You don’t have to do it” she said to him

“Hell, Alice, what do you mean by I don’t have to do it? I have to do it! I can’t leave my child, my first child as a matter of that. I can’t make that mistake. I would take care of our baby. I would be in your life and I don’t care if you say no to marrying me. That child is mine and I would be a part of his life whether you like it or not. It is not really your decision to make anymore but it’s mine now” he said to her

“I just don’t want you to do something that would ruin your life, my life and our baby’s” she said

“Then let me worry about that. It is my decision to make and I have chosen to stay in with you. Is there something I should know? Because you are dead against the fact that I want to stay with you” he said

“What are you trying to insinuate?”

“I don’t know, Alice. So you tell me. What is wrong with me being there for my child?” He asked her

“I don’t know. Considering the fact that you have so many enemies and the last thing I want is to put a child in harm’s way just because you can’t keep your house together” she said to him

“I would not have another argument with you. If that is what you are looking for then you can’t find it with me. That child is my child too and I would do everything to keep it safe. If you want to leave after it is born then go ahead. I would not stop you but the child stays with me” he said to her

He walked out of the bedroom and left her alone, hoping she would get some rest and maybe get a maid to help her with lunch but he was wrong. She went to the kitchen to make lunch. Well, he had forgotten to tell her that Xavier already picked up lunch and he was on his way back to the house. He watched her scamper around the kitchen and she turned back to look at him

“What do you want now? Or you have something else that you need to clear out or accuse me of?” she said

“I wasn’t accusing you of anything, Alice. Understand that that child is my child and I want to be there for it” he said

“Message gotten. Thanks, you can leave now” she said to him

“Don’t make lunch. There is absolutely no reason for you too. Xavier already went out to buy lunch for the three of us. He should be back anytime from now. You don’t gave to bother yourself with making lunch” he Said

“Thanks for the heads-up” she said as she slammed the kitchen napkin on the kitchen table and walked out of the kitchen

Jared could not understand why she was so mad at him when he was just trying to make things up. He didn’t know what he was doing wrong and she wasn’t talking to him about it either. He was starting to get really frustrated and angry. Very soon, he was going to lose it all. His mind and his self-control. He was hanging by a thread and it was just a matter of time before it snapped. When it snapped, he was going to lose his cool and let go of everything he was holding. He was going to follow her and say all that was on his mind when he heard the front door open 

“Jared?” he heard Xavier scream 

“What’s wrong? Why are you screaming again?” he asked, impatiently 

“There is another dead body. It is a kid’s body again. We have to find a way to stop this. The people of Crimson valley are starting to lose their patience. It is a matter of time before thing go out of hand here. They are not buying my story of peace and unity anymore and they thing the blue silver pack has something to do with it” Xavier said

“Is there a connection between the two murders?” Jared asked

“There isn’t , except from the fact that they are both below the age of eighteen and they are both in crimson academy. There is no other connection” Xavier said

“And the mothers of the children?” she asked

“There is no connection either. Someone out there is killing children, Jared and we have to find out who that person is before another body drops” Xavier said

“We would. We would go down to Blue moon valley tomorrow morning and see there alpha or whoever the hell is available!” Jared said

“And what do we do about the people till then? They are losing it out there. It is only a matter if time before they come here and cause a scene” 

“Then we do what we normally do. We gather the people and then we assure them that we have the situation under control. It is going to be a blood bath if we don’t do that” Jared said

“I know, it is only a matter of time before the people take matters into their own hands. We have to find a safe place for the people incase things do get out of hand” Xavier said

“I would see what I can do. After lunch, gather the people do I can address this situation. It is starting to get really draining” he said as he dropped on the sofa

“Where is Alice?” he asked

“I have no idea and right now, I don’t want to have an idea. She is really starting to piss me off. She doesn’t want me in the baby’s life. She had literally said everything to push me away just within the hour and I don’t know why she is acting this way” Jared said

“You could ask her nicely. I said, nicely, Jared. You are never nice or polite to her to maybe you have asked her but how nice were you about it?” Xavier asked

“Xavi, I don’t have time to be nice about anything. Niceness didn’t get me anywhere. I was below the food chain until I became a monster. I had to bury the nice guy in me to survive and yes, I did ask her and all she said was that my enemies. What do they have to do with this?” he asked

“Jared, if your enemies find out that you have a child, they would use that against you. I think you know how the story goes. It happened to my father so it shouldn’t be new to you. Alice can’t handle that type of trauma and you know this so maybe she has a very valid reason for not wanting you in the life of her child” Xavier said 

“Our child!” Jared corrected

“You know what I mean” Xavier said to him
