Chapter 3: Hiccups

At first out of frustration I went out with a complete stranger, later on I realised what stupidity I was doing. Cloud of stress took me, I wondered what would want me to do? Was I wrong when I promised him that I would do anything?

What could this anything mean? Wait a minute, look at the silence on the road, wait, where did the buildings disappear? I didn’t realize we entered some deserted place. What in the world is he going to do with me?

“Why are you staring at me?” He startled me.

“Are you going to rape,” I spoke without even thinking once.

How can I even say it on his face, you dimwit.

He started bursting with laughter, “Keep dreaming.”

Wait a minute, did he just insult me? I started looking at myself in the rear view mirror.

“Am I that bad looking?” I wondered why I couldn't keep my mouth shut.

All of a sudden the car stopped, I thought it was a bump but the road seemed clear to me. With surprise I looked at him. He stopped the car and folded his hands while thinking about something. He started checking me out. I found him weird.

He raised his one eyebrow, “Nah! You are good.”

The moment he said that, I think I skipped a beat. Soon, I started having hiccups. This is a strange feeling, I hiccuped out of nervousness only. I tried to stop but couldn’t.

Seeing me acting weird he came real close to me, it’s when I noticed his face for the first time. His handsome face is a canvas of distinct features that come together in perfect harmony. He was a perfect blend of rugged masculinity and refined charm.

His eyes were deep pools of intrigue, very intense and their color a rich shade of hazel. These eyes are set beneath well-defined, expressive eyebrows. His nose is strong and straight, providing a proud bridge between his eyes. It speaks of character and determination, never wavering in the face of adversity.

A subtle, angular jawline gives structure to his face, hinting at his underlying strength and resilience. It's often adorned with a day's worth of stubble, a hint of ruggedness that accentuates his masculine allure. Lips, full yet not overly so, are the epitome of sensuality. They curve effortlessly into a warm smile, revealing teeth that are bright, symmetrical, and contagious in their radiance.

Tousled dark hair crowns his head, a testament to his dynamic nature. It's a shade of ebony, with just the right amount of thickness and wave to make one's fingers itch to run through it. This man's face is a masterpiece of nature and nurture, combining strong features with a hint of vulnerability, masculinity with gentleness, and ruggedness with sophistication.

It's a face that leaves a lasting impression, a face that invites you to explore the depths of his character and draws you in with its captivating charm. I was too drowned into his face when called me again.

“Miss, why are you lost?” I was startled as if I stole something.

“Huh! Oh my hiccups one. Where are you taking me?” I tried to divert the topic.

“You’ll know it soon,” he smirked.

Soon, we reached some mansion, it was way bigger than the previous one. All of a sudden Eric came in my mind turning my face gloomy. I was lost in my own world when the stranger clicked his fingers right in front of my eyes and made me come to my senses.

“Shall we?” He asked while offering his hand after he opened the car door for me.

I felt like a princess but to me it was strange as why would he act nice all of a sudden, why would he give me this much attention? I am sure something was fishy here, so I waited patiently to see where this play would take me.

“Yes,” I placed my hand over his gently.

Soon, we entered the mansion. It was beautiful and I absolutely loved the decor, not too much decoration but classy I must say. I noticed there were a few people waiting for the stranger in the hall.

They seemed like his people, maybe his friends. All of them started smiling at the stranger.

One of the boys stood up, “Not bad, Brad. I thought you were lying back when you said you were with your girl.”

I am his girl? Is that why he  brought me here to fake in front of his friends? It’s just wow! Brad, huh nice name he got there. Why is everyone in the hall staring at me?

Before I could look at Brad, he held me tight from my waist, “Yeah, she’s my gal!”

My hiccups were back again, I wondered why the hell I am having too many hiccups tonight, my eyes were wide open and I can’t seem to look anywhere else besides his eyes.

One of the females with short length hair stood up and offered me a glass of water, “Thank you.”

“You’re most welcome…”

“It’s Ari, I mean Areana,” I hesitated to say my name.

Brad came close to me again and whispered in my ears, “You got a nice name, Arena.”

I think this time I skipped a hundred heart beats, my hiccups were gone and all of a sudden my face turned red.

“What did you say to make her blush,” the boy in the shorts asked him.

“It’s between us,” Brad replied confidently.

I didn’t know what I should do so I excused myself for the loo.

Girl with short hair showed me the way, I locked myself in the washroom and took a look at myself in the mirror.

Am I blushing, what the hell is wrong with me tonight? Ari, you need to stop blushing, have you gone nuts? Come back to your senses right away.

He wanted me to act like a girlfriend, maybe that’s what he wanted me to do. My bad, I thought bad about him.
