Chapter 6: Showed His True Colors

Brad continued to whisper, “Though I am trying to help you here but that doesn’t mean you can act in front of everybody, especially in the office where you and I are close to each other. I know the girls like you, so don’t even think about anything else or else you will be kicked from the work place before you know it.”

My mind blew up as soon as I sensed his true colors, I felt like killing him, “Hey! Don’t you think…”

I wanted to yell at him but Eric interrupted, “Boss, I must say what a lovely evening it is.”

So Eric was here again, I felt like punching both of them at the same time, Brad held me a bit tight from my waist because he was worried if I might say something in front of Eric. I got more furious when he touched me without my permission but I was helpless as Eric was there.

Soon all the team members joined and Brad released me. I went to Ash. Ash was in the bar area drinking some wine.

My face turned red, “What an evening?”

Ash laughed, “yeah gal! I can see it pretty well on your face. Told you, you look killer tonight even Brad couldn't resist you. Look at your face turned all red.”

“What? Have you gone nuts? You’ve read my face wrong. It's the complete opposite of that. Don’t talk to me about that.” I uttered whatever was going on in my mind.

Afterwards I told everything that happened tonight with Brad. Ash seemed a bit tense as she knew first I had to face Eric and now Brad is also acting weird. Things were getting messed up. I was so angry that I drank the complete bottle of wine, I never drink but today for the first time in life I drank it as I was pissed off completely with both the guys.

I didn't even realise when the party ended, Ash came to me in a hurry saying that she had to visit her friend who’s in need of her though she asked me to drop me but I refused and gave her confidence that I was all fine but in reality I was having headache and I felt dizzy.

When Ash left I came to my senses a little bit and realised that only four people were left in the party, Eric and Elizabeth, Brad and I. I wanted to escape because it was the time when I couldn’t tolerate a single one under the roof. So without wasting much time I headed to the exit.

I barely took a step when Brad stopped me by holding my right arm, “You are drunk, where are you planning to go in such a situation?”

I was already pissed so I moved ahead rather than listening to him which seemed to pissed him off. He raised his eyebrows and whispered, “You are going nowhere, rather than acting strange in front of your ex just simply follow my lead.”

Though I was angry, he was right. I followed him. Before leaving he said goodbye to Eric and Elizabeth and I had to give a fake smile. I noticed that Eric couldn’t take his eyes off me which made me more furious. I felt like punching him right in his face.

Meanwhile in the dark woods

“Are you sure this is where we found her for the first time? A female voice asked her mate.

“I’m pretty sure that we have found her here only, I remember it crystal clear,” He was confident.

“Well, if you say so then we must dig every source and evidence possible for her existence. I am sure one day we will definitely find Ari’s real parents. That poor child, we don’t even know if she’s a wolf or not, it’s hard to tell if she belongs to an alpha family or not.” She sat on her knees being worried.

“Don’t worry Ari’s mother, we will surely find out about her real parents soon. As long as we couldn't find out about her real parents we must wait and keep this secret between us only or else she would be in trouble big time,” Ari’s father tried to console his wife.

“You are right hon, but sometimes I wonder what if she is a human only? I mean until now I couldn’t see her behaving like a wolf at all, she seems more like a human child to me, don’t you think so?” She inquired.

“I couldn't agree more with you but deep down I have this gut feeling that there’s something more about her existence, I don’t know she doesn’t seem like a normal being to me, her aura is quite different.” Ari’s father said.

“That's so right, I also feel like she has quite an aura,” his wife agreed.

Out of the blue Ari’s father shouted, “Look, can you see it?”

Arena’s parents ran towards the huge tree which was right in the centre of the dark woods. Once they reached the tree they found out one clue, a white envelope. Ari’s father opened it quickly. Bold letters were written in red ink on a white piece of paper.

He read it out loud, “I know you are still looking for her real parents.”

“Everytime I read this, it scares me. Who is it? Ever since we found Ari such letters we are finding in this tree only. I am telling you someone is keeping a close eye on us, I am really scared,” Ari’s mother got worried.

“Don’t worry, everything will be alright,” he tried to console his spouse.

The moment Ari’s after hugging his wife they heard someone running in the woods. Arena’s parents got alert and they started following the sound of the being who was running at a bolt’s speed. All they could hear was the sound and couldn’t see anything at all. They kept running until they reached an old hut covered with a huge banyan tree.
