Seraphina POV

I wasn’t sure how I was holding it together. It was as if my soul had disassociated from my being. Leaving me a shell of a person to deal with the unfathomable heartache at the hands of someone I once trusted and loved.

After Allister had taken the phone from me, he took Chrissy’s lifeless body out of the cell and threw her remains into a heap near the stairway.

Bile began to rise in my throat at the sickening sound her body made as she hit the concrete floor.

He walked back into the cell and cut the remaining of my restraints off, making me yelp in pain. “Get the fuck up,” he barked out, making my flinch. My nervous system was fried after the day that I had. How was I ever in love with this man?
