Chap 5: Meet again

It's barely dark outside. Far off in the distance, the crows sounded every time, which made people not afraid. It signals a dark nights is coming.

Uri went to Neil's house, which remained as silent as it was yesterday. He takes the key and opens the door. Having gone into Neil's room, Uri tried to find some clues. His eyes landed on the small table, then slowly walked over. On the table, countless newspapers were scattered, some places marked with crayons. Uri immediately recognized it was newspapers on Neil's desk that day. A thought flashed in his mind, he hurriedly gathered the newspapers, then ran out of the house.

Twenty minutes later, he stood in front of an abandoned building. It was dark, around without a sound, Uri only vaguely heard the sound of water flowing in the distance. This is the crime scene where the first victim was discovered, an abandoned building located next to the Los Angeles River.

Turn on the flashlight, surrounded by almost exclusively weed, which has grown knee-high. Uri looked at the guard ropes that were spun entangled on the outside and hesitated a bit. He swallowed, took a deep breath, and then entered.

Uri cautiously stepped on the ground, each step as if his heart rate increased by a beat. The inside was filled with scraps and construction materials. Some of the places are numbered, presumably left by the police.

This building has three floors. Uri went all the first two floors without discovering anything strange. As soon as he reached the third floor, he was startled by a figure painted in white paint on the ground. Uri clutched his chest and took a few steps back. On his face was a look of extreme horror. It seems this is a real crime scene.

Uri suppressed his hasty breathing, trying to regain his composure. Trembling hands shone flashlights at every corner of the room. Five minutes later, he depressedly dropped his flashlight. He didn't find anything out of the ordinary, because the police work too carefully.

Uri sighed a little disappointed, about to go down, when suddenly something in the corner of the room flashed. He quickly flashed his flashlight and approached. He found a red object stuck between two small bricks.

Uri clamped a flashlight to her arm, pulling the object out forcefully. It took a while for him to hold it in his hand. Looking at the object in hand, Uri was briefly taken aback.

This is Neil's fountain pen, which Uri gave him for his birthday. The top of the cap also has Neil's name engraved on it.

Why did it fall here?

Did Neil leave it on purpose?

What happened to Neil?

Clutching the pen in hand, Uri's breathing became quickened by his thoughts. Maybe this time he couldn't deny his thoughts anymore.

Just as his mood became confused, a voice behind him made Uri startled.

"Who's there?"

Uri instinctively turned off the flashlight, daring not to breathe heavily, he crouched in a corner, hoping that the person would not see him.

"Who are you? What are you doing here?" The sound of leather shoes touching the ground made a "clattering" sound, the voice getting closer and closer.

Uri was both nervous and panicking, sitting motionless on the ground, not daring to move, nor respond. He gripped the pen tightly in his hand, his palm already wet with sweat.

If he was caught sight of, it would be very troublesome!

Suddenly a light flashed in front of him, Uri instinctively reached out to cover his face.

"Who are you?" Alex Dominic shone a flashlight at him, coldly asking.

Uri in his heart was worried, his voice unable to hold back and became trembling: "I'm... I'm not..."

Alex Dominic had just seen Uri's face clearly, and was not surprised, only to say, "Is it you again?"

Huh?

Uri was surprised. Does the person in front of him know him?

Wait, this voice sounds a little familiar...

In Uri's head, speculation arises. He slowly opened his eyes. In the vague darkness, in front of him was a body. Although he was half-submerged in darkness, Uri could still feel his physique very tall.

Silver hair and dark blue eyes in the glowing darkness.

Expectedly he!

Uri's heart trembled slightly, he was shocked and involuntarily exclaimed: "Why... why are you here?"

After saying it out loud, Uri realized how stupid his question was. He is a policeman, of course, he's here to investigate. What else is there to do?!

Alex glanced at Uri: "Two times you appeared at the crime scene were caught by me. It seems that God has not helped you!"

Caught red-handed, Uri didn't hide it anymore. He slowly stood up, at this time Alex's cold eyes glanced at him, Uri shivered slightly, stammering: "I... I just..."

"Looks like you're quite capable of being the killer," Alex said coldly.

"No... I'm completely innocent..." Uri shook her head, hastily replying.

"Innocent or not, go to the police station and say." Alex coldly walked over and pulled out the handcuffs from his belt.

Uri heard a "jingle" sound coming out, panicked, and backed up, shaking his head non-stop: "I don't have anything to do with it... I just... want to investigate a little bit..."

"Stop talking nonsense." Alex snorted coldly, without any effort grabbing Uri's hands, and twisting his arm backward.

"Ah... I'm in pain..." The arm was bent backward, causing Uri to let out a small scream, physiological tears instinctively spilling out of his eye sockets. The pen in his hand also fell to the ground.

In the shadow, there was a "clicking" sounded clearly.

Alex stopped moving, looked at the pen on the ground, and frowned: "Where is it?"

"N...not mine..." Uri took a breath of cold air and hastily contested it.

Alex crouched down, picked up the pen and took a look, said nothing, then put it in his pocket.

Because he turned his back on Alex, Uri couldn't see what Alex was doing. He just felt his hands clenched in pain, then heard an emotionless voice from Alex.

"Donna, tell someone to go to the first crime scene... There's a suspicious person..."

Then there's the sound phone hang-up.

Uri was handcuffed. In the dark, he looked up at Alex, his voice like he was about to cry: "Let me go..."

Alex didn't care about him. He looked and shone the torch into the room, seemingly searching for something.

"What are you looking for?" Uri asked slightly.

Alex didn't respond.

Uri saw him sitting down in a corner of the room and looking at it for a long time. Uri's curiosity arises.

What's there? Why didn't he see it before?

Almost ten minutes later, Alex stood up, walked over to push Uri, and coldly said: "Let's go, go down."

"Wait... I don't want to go to the police station..." Uri tried to keep his feet on the ground, his whole body struggling slightly.

Alex frowned, slightly increasing the strength in his arm. This time, Uri was easily pushed away by him.
