Chapter 18 - What Is The Secret?

Charlotte's POV

After they finished eating, she immediately went to her room to change clothes. She was in a hurry to avoid Elijah's sister, but she wasn't given the chance, as when she came out of the bathroom, Elisse was already sitting on the bed, staring at her as if reading her whole being.

Elisse smiled at her. Unsure of what to do, she subtly walked towards the door to leave.

"Where are you going?"

She glanced at Elisse. "To Elijah's room."

"Hmmp, come sit here first; let's talk, even just for a moment."

She thought she had evaded Elijah's sister. She didn't want to talk to her alone because it always seemed like there were hurtful words to be said.

"I won't bite, Charlotte. Even though my mouth might be bad towards my brother, it's different with you, so come here."

She walked over and sat on the other side of the bed. "What do you want to talk about?" she asked.

"About you and Elijah."

Her eyebrows furrowed. "What about me and Elijah?"
