Chapter 19

Kai walked into Ryland’s study, his footsteps loud as he stepped on the woody ground. The room was quite dim as the curtains were all shut. He could see Ryland’s manly stature sitting right on his seat with his head leaned backward.

Kai contemplated on what to say to him. Maybe he should tell Ryland what he just learned about, but he wasn’t quite sure.

“Did you get any questions from him?” Ryland asked, his voice low but husky.

Kai breathed in deeply before saying, “No he refused to say, he just kept laughing like a maniac.” He didn’t have the guts to tell Ryland the whole truth. He was scared that he might put his life in danger to save Jasmine instead. Perhaps if he separated them both nobody would die.

Ryland straightened up on his seat, his icy gaze met that of Kai but Kai swiftly shifted his gaze. Though the room was dark, Ryland could see Kai clearly, his every movement thanks to his vampire features.
