I'm A Vampire

CHAPTER FIVE

"All right, here we are, go inside," she said as she gave me a nice hug, possibly because she was sad for me. Oh, she was my first acquaintance here.

I opened the door and entered a huge living room. I noticed him, who was sitting on a sofa, and approached him until I was standing in front of him.

Waiting for an explanation, I crossed my arms above my chest.

"Please don't irritate me or you'll live to regret it. In addition, I'm not in a good mood," he stated while standing. He vanished from my vision as he stood, and by the time I recognized it, he was standing in front of me, our eyes locked on one other.

He brushed up against my chin, causing me to look slightly upward in his direction. I wanted to turn away, but his hand kept my face fixed in place. I was terrified. I wanted to flee, but my body was mystically succumbing to him.

But my pride won out over my dread of him.

"Sorry about that! But you don't get it! I'm not something you can have or give away. I want to go home! Send me back home right away!" I yelled, yanking his fingers away from my chin.

He cocked his head to the right as he observed me, his fingers slipping from my face. My heartbeat quickened as he gave out a low, sexy chuckle.

To be honest, he was appealing in every way. And if I didn't have Danny, maybe... maybe for a split second, I considered giving him a chance.

"Do you think you have a say in this?" His speech was relaxed, and he seemed like he was having a good time. I despised it; it was like an adult speaking to a child. I couldn't keep my rage in check. Was he making fun of me?!

He cleared his throat, his tone growing low and difficult to hear.

"I was considering making you an assistant, but as you can see, the assistant role is plainly not for you; you can't seem to control your mouth. Then, slave, it is." He mumbled quietly to himself.

He looked at me again after a brief interval. I became much more enraged this time.

"It makes no difference to me whether you like the situation or not. Okay, darling?" He uttered this with disdain. His expression shifted from amusement and serene to emotionlessness.

Anxiety and panic surged through my body at the same time. But my wrath was more visible.

I was horrified by the expression in his eyes. I couldn't discern the emotions showing in his eyes.  It seemed as if they were looking for something—something they had desired for a long time, but not as a possession, but as retribution!

"No!" I retaliated angrily at him.

"Whatever, now follow me," he shouted as he turned around, disregarding me totally.

This haughty jerk plainly didn't understand a word I said. I kept my gaze fixed on his back as he made his way to the stairway on the left. Okay, I had a strategy. It was silly, but I would go up the other staircase, found a door, and went into hiding till I figure out the next phase of the plan, which I also probably didn't know.

Regardless, I was desperate. As I stared at the staircase on the right side, calculating the distance and speed required, my pulse rate increased.

"Whatever you're thinking, don't dare to act on it. I'm not interested in your human drama. Aside from that, I'm starving." He said as he turned to face me, a death glare on his face.

I observed how angry he appeared when I looked at him. But before I could respond to his thread, he was behind me, his lips at my ear. I had no idea how he accomplished it, but it terrified the living daylights out of me.

"Don't tell me Sophie didn't tell you I'm a vampire! Darling, I'm not in a good mood right now. You will be sorry if you upset me." He spoke in my ear, his lips moving up and down my neck.

My entire body shivered as if something heavy had struck me. Then, in an instant, he was back in front of me, continuing to walk up the stairs.

My heart was racing as I recognized my opportunity. Was it worthwhile to take this risk? Do you mean right now? After he'd just given me a terrifying warning?

And if he is a vampire, I know they are fast, strong, and dangerous based on my knowledge of them. He appears to like all of these if not ten times worse. But why couldn't I figure it out?

But I couldn't let this opportunity pass by! With that notion, I dashed up the steps, heading for the right one. My heart was in my throat as I neared the summit. I turned around to check where he was, but I couldn't find him.

But then I felt someone's face next to my ear, and as I turned my head, he was there. "BOO!" my breath increased as I quickened my pace.

When I eventually made it to the top, I was exhausted. I quickly returned my gaze to him, thinking my approach had worked. He altered his posture to face me, crossing his arms across his chest. He appeared to be irritated.

I watched his lips move, and I had barely caught what he had just said before I started running again. Those words, though, sent shivers down my spine.

"You're going to regret that!"

Those five words shot shivers up my spine. They were enough to make me want to run as fast as I could, examining each door as I passed through it to see if it was open or not.

The first four doors I encountered were all locked. I despised the idea that I was squandering my time opening them.

Suddenly, I began to have panicked thoughts:

(1) If he is a vampire, why isn't he coming to capture me yet?

(2) I know I'm a long distance from home, but how can I return once I've left this place?

(3) What will happen if he discovers my whereabouts?

So, the solution to the third question was already known to me. It was obvious that it wasn't a case of 'whether he found me,' but of 'when he found me.'

I came to a halt in front of the final door, which was unlike any of the others. Fortunately, turning the knob, it got unlocked! *shocked*. I had no idea why it was unlocked, but I wasn't in a position to inquire.

After entering, I quietly closed the door without making a sound and gazed around the light room. It was stylish and spacious, with a king-sized bed. On each side of the room, there were two doors. The whole room was enormous. Giving it a fancy appearance while also giving it a strange feeling.

A glimmer of optimism passed through me as I looked across the room at the drapes. However, as I uncovered them, I found it was a balcony.

My initial idea had failed, so I considered hiding on the Balcony. So many thoughts began to enter my mind, such as what if I couldn't get out of here?

Did he plan all of this? Did he know I was going to try to flee? What if this was his room that's why it wasn't locked? Was this all part of his plan to keep me hidden in his room?

The hall was filled with the sound of footsteps.

The door to the room crashed open and then quickly closed. My heart rate increased as I realized death was approaching.

"I'm not a fan of hide and seek, but I assume you are." When I heard Wood creak, I imagined him leaning against the door.

"I adore that you chose to hide in my room, but it's not like you're going to leave anytime soon, or even alive," he explained.

"I can hear and smell you, sweetie, your rising heartbeat, your aroma, by the way, you smell really lovely, sweet and inviting," he chuckled slightly. "I'm aware of your whereabouts. Your heart is racing so fast. You appear to be afraid."

I heard knives rubbing against each other to sharpen them.

"You know I enjoy playing games, especially those involving life and death," he said. "I think you'll appreciate it because it's a game you created yourself."

My heart raced against my chest as I listened to him, locked in place.
