The queen smiled, obviously impressed by the name as well as the looks of the young man who undauntedly stood before her. "Hmm…Lycidas... I hear you intercepted the beast from getting away to the forbidden Marshlands. It is literally on the lips of every maiden in Pragoth."
Most of the maidens present at the feast flushed in embarrassment and either looked away or lowered their gaze except Claire who could barely take her eyes off her long-time crush.
Just then, something caught Lycidas’ attention and when he lowered his gaze, he noticed that the queen was actually using the severed beast's head as a footstool. "I only did my duty with the help of the pack." He simply answered, his expression unreadable.

At the centre of Darius' court, Theresa stood, surrounded by a pack of lycans that she hardly knew. Theresa jolted out of her thoughts and turned around to find a maiden who was quite older than she was but still very young. Darius and Herrick moved through the dense parts of the woods, manoeuvring their way through the trees and bushes and rocks. Elaine turned as she heard footsteps and visibly sighed in relief when she noticed it was the men. "Where have you two been? You are almost late for breakfast. Medea walked in moments later and happily acknowledged everyone present in the room which was not unusual of her. Medea was nineteen winters just like Claire and she was spirited and very friendly. Although she was very easy-going and fun to be with, she had the trait of wanderlust by going off on her own into the woods to discover places and new creatures.
