Chapter 38 - The Ceremony
Zelena.
Okay, pampering has become my favourite thing ever. Clary did my feet and toenails, while Scott gave me a full facial and Trisha did my fingernails. Being fawned over by three people at the same time was the most awesome feeling. I felt like a princess or a queen, or even just a super-rich important person. Nat came up towards the end of my little indulgence and started setting up her makeup desk. Once the pampering was done, she started on my makeup while Scott did my hair. Turns out he is a man of many talents. By the time they were all done, and I was standing in my dress in front of the mirror gawking at myself, it had been nine hours and the party was in full swing.

Zelena.Lupus led me down the porch and out into the clearing. Strings of white lanterns hung from one side of the clearing to the other, filling the space with beautiful glowing lights. Lunaya.Turns out we didn’t venture too far from the lodge. It only took us ten minutes to get back. Lunaya.The woman, Romeá, led us on a wild goose chase through the thick of the forest. We walked for at least half an hour, the village and the party were long behind us. The roars of the male wolves and the constant howling rang through the trees. Whatever this girl did, it clearly has a lasting effect.
