Amara's POV

I exited the top floor and walked downstairs to the living room, where I saw Mrs. Ifeoma and her daughter discussing on the couch. I knew I couldn't just walk past them and leave the house, so I stopped and decided to inform them that I was going out for shopping.

"Good evening, Ma. I want to go out for shopping and to meet with someone," I said to Mrs. Ifeoma Briggs, but she didn't even look at me as she continued pressing her phone with her legs rested upon the relaxation stool in front of her.

Samara didn't look at me either. She asked her mother, "Mom, did you hear anyone speaking?"

"Of course not, Samara. I didn't hear anything. Hahaha." They both laughed at me, and I felt a little embarrassed but smiled at them and turned to leave their sight. I thought they would stop me, but they didn't.
