I already called my dad as soon as I awoke and informed him that I wanted to continue working at Briggs Group. I used getting closer to Darlington as an excuse; my dad believed me, and I went to prepare, not seeing Darlington on the bed.

I remember him holding me the previous night, and with the way his eyes kept staring at me with desire while his actions spoke otherwise, I didn't know what to do with him.

I was surprised to have woken up and found out that he wasn't in the room. I thought he probably went out that night, but surprisingly, he was in the house and still in his robe, looking tired with dark circles around his eyes.

He didn't look like the handsome man I met the first day I arrived. Well, I couldn't care anymore, as I was tired of trying to win him over. Since he didn't want me, I thought about making friends at his company before I left; that way, I would have more partners when I finally left for the countryside to control my father's business.
