Chapter 5

Alessandro Caprio

Call me stupid because I know I was. I didn't take Daniel's advice first wrong move, second I underestimated the Mosta's strength which I shouldn't have. Long before we took over our mafias we used to go to school and train together. So I should have known.

"You're finally awake." Aliyah said bringing in some tea. Joyfully then flatly. What did that mean? "Aliyah..." I tried to say. This is not the time Alessandro. You need to rest." She said. I stretched out my hand to touch her face and surprisingly she didn't pull back. In fact she gave no reaction at all.

After waiting for me to finish the tea she got up to leave when I held her hand. "Don't go..." I said. I managed to get up and held her close. I cupped her face and stared into her eyes. "Aliyah, have you forgiven me?" I asked and she looked away. "I am sorry okay, I just wanted to protect you." He said. She said nothing but her next action shocked me. She kissed me. Of course I kissed her back.

"I forgive you." She said quietly. "I know this is rushed but do you want to be with me?" I asked I knew clearly pushing my luck.

Aliyah Sundane

I don't know why but seeing him again made me wonder what if I give this a shot? What would I lose? I can clearly tell he likes me and will always protect me. And as always this mind reader said what was on my mind. "Aliyah would you like to be with me?" He said. Why was he afraid of the word girlfriend? "Sure, I would like to..." I said and got interrupted by his smile.

"I don't mind, I guess I would like to." She said. "But..." I continued for her. "But I really need to know Alessandro, what you do." She said.

My face fell. Of course it wouldn't be wise of her to come back without know what happened and why it happened and what I do.

"Aliyah, promise me that no matter what I say, you would still stay with me." I said.

"I promise." She said quietly. "I can see this is not easy for you so why don't why do something..." Aliyah said. "What?" I asked. "Go ahead I will come back in 5 days and when I come back I will need my explanation." She said. "Deal." I loved that she was giving me time to figure this out. She is the understanding mate I need.

"I have not had any boyfriend apart from Roger, so I don't know much about relationships." She said looking down plainly and playing with her dress. That's not a good reaction... "What did he do to you?" I asked getting slightly angry. She said nothing and after a while of silence. "Nothing but what I want is that we have an understanding. An understanding that I am free and I can leave at any time..." She said. "Of course, except when it's dangerous." I said. "Okay." She said nodding.

The next day...

Aliyah Sundane

It was morning already on the second day after Alessandro's visit. And I wondered could I keep my promise that no matter what I would stay with him? No matter what he was into?

Suddenly I saw a familiar sight.

"Hey you, I have missed you." I said to Wolfie and it just brushed against me and sort of smiled?

Alessandro Caprio

I came to visit Aliyah simply because I couldn't wait for that long to see her again. and also because I needed to respect her decision. Well halfway at least.

We sat on the carpet as she cuddled me. Suddenly I was on edge. Something was coming. And we needed to get out of here and now! I ran to one of the rooms and transformed and so ended up naked. I quickly dashed into her besties room. I hated his smell probably because of jealousy and he was a size smaller than me.

"Where did Wolfie go?" She asked. "Let's just go!" I said.

"Well, well, well.. What do we have here?" Dossio said. "How did you get in?" Aliyah asked. That wasn't the best of questions at the time but considering she didn't really know him no one can blame her. And then behind him came behind him was Daniel. And seeing him made her relax.

Aliyah Sundane.

"I suspected you'll be here. You had us worried." Daniel said. "I am sorry about that." Alessandro said flatly.

"Go, I will come 2 days from now." Wondering why I didn't go with him? I wanted to be sure what I was getting to. I know he said he will tell me more when we get back. And will I will really stay no matter what he tells me. I needed time and I would take all I need.

"I am sorry Aliyah but for your safety's sake come with me." He said. And somehow I agreed.

3 days later.

Alessandro Caprio

"I am a business man." I lied. Yes I know this is a terrible move. "What he means is he deals with dangerous people, they don't like their business to be mentioned so he may have to be a bit secretive about certain things." Daniel said trying to help.

"I see, I will love it if I find out you're detectives trying to catch criminals. That won't be bad." She said innocently.

"We're far from detectives." Daniel said laughing and then coughed himself back to character. He tried to help but made a terrible slip up. After a while Daniel left.

Helena Petra

I heard not too long ago that Alessandro was hurt. I knew he would heal but I just wanted to see him and then I saw her. 'His mate.'

I mean she is not bad looking. She is quite pretty. Oh how I wish I could smash her face into a mirror and watch her see how truly worthless she was. Wondering where these vain and wicked words were from? They were from my heart. I hated her. Yes, she hadn't done anything wrong to me. But it hurt seeing the way he was all over her.

"I keep hearing mates? What does it mean. And what is the big deal if I am your mate?" She said.

How cute and innocent.

I knew very well Alessandro was there and making me aware of my presence will let him stop me. So I rushed over and gave her a fine slap on her. She lifted up her hand to her face as confusion soon took over what was left of her smile. That slap was for my pain and tolerating her mate whilst he hadn't found her yet. Like I had to babysit him and take care of him for her. I hate this! What I even hate more is if I have to do it again, I will. Because somehow, I still love him.

I tried to hit her again and Alessandro stood between us.

And of course his demeanour not friendly at all. He turned his back to her and snarled at me.

"Is there anything reason why I can't check on you? I heard you were not well." I said. "The only thing you did wrong here was coming into my house and attacking my mate." He said.

"I am sorry, Aliyah." I said and she nodded. "That's fine. Would it help you feel better if we could be friends?" Aliyah said. Interesting... she's a peacemaker. What she doesn't know is that is a sign of weakness for our world. Then it dawned on me that Alessandro hadn't told her about his job or his family. Very interesting.

She said what?? I can't believe this. My friend? There are two things either she is very nieve or she has a plan of her own and is not stupid at all.

Some hours later

Helena Petra

"If you can't destroy them, join them." I told Rely.

"Are you sure about this?" He asked. "Of course." I replied. She is so so nieve. It's almost easy.

Alessandro Caprio

"Enough Aliyah! You will not be Helena's friend period!" I said angrily. Leo could barely hold on. Couldn't she be more careful. It's obvious Helena is playing us. She plays tricks sometimes. Why would she all of a sudden warm up to the woman who denied her the love she so desired? She hated her and she wants to probably destroy her.

"Aliyah, baby. Please. Don't let us fight over this." I said trying another method. "It's really not worth it." I said feigning a headache which was quickly turning real. It suddenly got really intense.

"Alessandro are you okay?" Aliyah said. I could barely stand on my feet. What... what was happening to me? Everything went black.

Aliyah Sundane

"Alessandro.…" I called out but he wasn't responding. On his way down to the ground I held him so the impact won't be bad. And finally he collapsed on my shoulders. I was so scared. "Daniel!" I was screaming.

Helena Petra

I decided to stick around. And I heard his mate screaming. I peeped and saw an unconscious Alessandro. Ooh someone is just not himself. From what I recall his wolf was not a very stable one. Could it be linked? I mean what do I care.

I took out my phone and called Ria. Ria was Corio Mosta's fiance.

"Ria, I have some news." I said.

"What is it?" Ria said excitedly. "It seems Alessandro is weak at the moment and well..."
