No. No.
It couldn’t be. Not Alex. He was standing right in front of me, staring. Everyone was staring. I felt sick; the room was spinning. Gripping the chair before me to steady myself, I pulled my eyes away from his direction. He still looked the same. Only older and more good-looking. His tall figure towered over my small five-foot-five frame. His thick blonde hair combed neatly out of his face, revealing two big brown eyes as wide as saucers. He had his arms crossed over his muscular chest. Wearing a shirt and black jeans, he looked so bright, so handsome. His red lips arched into a smile as he started to walk towards me: I could hear the whispers and feel the tension in the room as he approached me. “That’s not possible. She’s just an omega. Why would the moon goddess curse the alpha with an omega mate!” I heard Eliza shriek in horror as she stamped her feet, pushing her way through the crowd and running towards her bedroom. I was definitely in trouble now. I felt sick as my tummy did a flip and ended in a knot of dread and uncertainty. I dared not to look to Alpha Evans. I knew he would be absolutely furious with me. I didn’t like to think of what punishment I would receive later. I gulped and stepped backwards, almost knocking into a table filled with food and drinks. “Watch yourself, omega.” Yelled an angry female voice. “Please forgive me. I will clean it up at once.” I gasped, seeing it was the wife of one of the warriors. She gave me a deathly glare but kept her lips pursed together as Alex let out a low warning growl. I froze to the spot. “Mate.” I heard the words in my head shouting. It couldn’t be. My wolf had suddenly surfaced. That’s when I dropped to the floor, and everything went black.Alex’s pov I sat beside her bedside the whole night, watching and waiting for any improvement. The pack doctors were doing everything they could, but since she hadn’t received any care and had been starved and was beyond exhausted, it wasn’t clear how long it would take for Victoria to recover. Her wolf must have been extremely weak since having a wolf makes us heal a lot faster. I wanted to kill whoever had done this to my mate. I didn’t care that she was an omega. She was my mate. Alpha Evans was full of sorry-arse excuses as to why his pack thought it perfectly ok to harm such a young female. My eyes widened with shock as I saw the true extent of her injuries. The council of elders would not be happy with this at all. My main concern was to ensure my mate got better. Austin, my wolf, was getting increasingly difficult to hold back. He was so angry that our mate could be treated so poorly. I wanted to scoop her into my arms and take her back to my pack m, away
I heard the sound of beeping machines and muffled voices around me. I wanted to open my eyes severely, but they felt heavy and wouldn’t open. I don’t know where I was or how I ended up here. I was afraid to know, unsure of what fresh hell awaited me. Perhaps my loyal beaters were watching me, hell-bent on ruining me even more if that was possible. I heard a loud thud as what sounded like a door opening and footsteps nearing me. I lay still, waiting for more slaps or punches to wash over my already beaten body. Strangely it felt like some electric shot hurtled as someone entwined their fingers into mine. Inside my head, I was screaming, the sweet smell of chocolate and ginger filled my nostrils, but I couldn’t see the person beside me. I knew it was my mate. My eyelids fluttered open after what seemed like a century; the bright blinding light made me squint and screw my face up. I groaned as my body ached, and I was a tangled mess of wires. “Miss Victo
I was disgusted that my Victoria had been mistreated. How dare they! I insisted that she be moved to my pack. I wanted her away from these repulsive idiots. Alpha Evans was crazy to think that I would accept his daughter as my mate. Victoria was special. My mate. “You are not staying here. I am taking you back to my pack. This place is the pits. I am disgusted at how you have been treated.” I told her, and she looked at me in disbelief. “But the alpha Evans he... He won't let me leave.” her voice was small and frightened, like a little child. “No. He has no say.” The door flew open, and my beta came in, followed by Alpha Evan and his irritating daughter. I had had enough of her whiny mouth. I was certainly not going to have someone like that as my mate. “Step back,” I warned the alpha as he tried to reason with me. Did he honestly think I would tolerate this kind of bullshit? He was very clearly mistaken
I thought that I must be dreaming. This hunk of a male had taken me away from the hell hole that I thought was my forever destiny. .he smelled so good, and I wondered if this was too good to be true. How could he want me? Eliza was much more suitable to him. I held my breath and wanted this dream never to end. Good things just never happened to me. So why now? It was madness. “Victoria, you are awake. How are you feeling?” Oh, my goddess. He was staring right at me. I must have looked at the correct state. He smelled so divine, so delicious. He would surely only be nice to me because he felt sorry for me. He was gorgeous, and those eyes. Oh wow. My heart was going wild, thumping away in my chest while my stomach did flip over and over again. “Victoria?” he spoke again, amused at my blushing. I looked around and realised that I did not recognise this place. I was ta
I was so happy to be back home at my pack finally. Victoria seemed content to be close to me, and I was pleased to find my good friend, Helen, nearby. She would help Victoria settle in, and they could become good friends. I knew that Victoria was timid, and inside I was furious at how badly she had been treated. That would never happen to her again. Not ever. Helen knocked on my office door, and I permitted her to enter. She bowed as soon as she came in. “How is she?” I looked up from my paperwork to see Helen looking extremely uncomfortable. “Alpha Alex, I do not know how to tell you this. But Victoria seems to be upset. She thinks that she should not be entitled to any of this. What is going on?” Helen exclaimed, taking a seat opposite me. I threw the pen down, sat back and sighed, rubbing my forehead. It did not surprise me since she had been through hell and back at that sorry excuse of a pack. “I will go and see her.” I stood up and wen
Everything was different here at the Blue Creek pack; everything was just the complete opposite of the place that I had grown up calling my home. I did not miss that place, not one tiny bit. Helen was kind to me, and when we sat down to eat, it was strange not being the one to serve and do all of the runnings about. I felt slightly out of place, but Helen reassured and comforted me. “Do you want to be friends?” I asked her sheepishly and then felt like an idiot for asking something stupid. She smiled warmly and nodded her head eagerly. “Of course. We can be friends. I would love that.” Helen shoved a forkful of food into her mouth, causing me to let out a chuckle. When I looked up, my eyes went straight to Alex; his smile was distracting. The old lady standing beside him made me almost fall out of my seat. Helen shoved her plate away and tended to me caringly. “What is it?” she exclaimed. That woman with my mate. Why did she l
Alex’s POV I had decided that it was best to call upon the elders for what would be the next best step to take. I could not just allow them to get away with the sickening treatment that they had enforced on my Victoria. It made me so angry to think of her curled up in a ball, scared and unable to do anything about the horrendous things they had done to her. With the phone in my hand and about to call the elders, I was stopped by a knock at the door; then, a stranger barged in. I was amazed when this old lady entered my office with my beta. "What is going on?" I stared at the old lady, confused, and waited for an answer. She was old with greying hair and thick glasses on the edge of her bumpy nose. Her eyes were wide and brown. The thick black coat that she was wearing looked as old as she did. Something about her made me think of Victoria; she reminded me of her. "Who are you?" I asked her. She smiled at me and sat in my armchair in th
My grandmother. She looked so kind and caring, but I also had so many questions. Like why now? After all these years, why come and find me now? How did she know I was here? This was so messed up for me. My whole mind was about to burst with unprocessed information. “Come on now, let’s go for a walk. We can talk.” She said, and I looked to Alex for assurance. He gave me a nod and took my hand. We went out to the main grounds, where it was peaceful, there were not many others around, and Alex led us to a small patioed area with deck chairs and a table with an umbrella to shield us from the burning sunshine. The birds chirping away in the treetops and the distant sound of children playing in the play area made me smile. “Let me start by saying I am sorry for the sudden intrusion. My name is Ethel. You are my granddaughter; my daughter is your mother. Many years ago now, you were just a baby, and you were taken from us.” She started to say.
