Zac’s POV---I knocked on the door, hoping to catch Fisher at a good time. When he opened it, I was taken aback by the romantic atmosphere in the sitting room. Diana was snuggled up beside him on the couch, and they both looked like they were in their own little world."Ah, Zac! Sorry about the timing," Fisher said, clearing his throat. "Come on in."I felt a bit awkward, but I knew I needed his help. "Hey, no worries. I need some advice on how to surprise Hailey for her birthday."Diana smiled and patted the couch beside her. "Join us! We're happy to help."As I sat down, Fisher asked, "So, what've you got planned so far?"I explained my ideas, and Diana nodded enthusiastically. "We should call the girls! Natalie and Eliza would love to help plan this."Before I knew it, the two women were summoned, and we were all huddled in the sitting room, brainstorming ideas. Natalie pulled out her notebook and started jotting down notes."Okay, so we've got a picnic, a surprise party, and a sp
Hailey’s POV.I paced around the house restless. Zac wasn't home yet and it bothered me to no length. Fisher already called to verify if he came home already but I replied no. I haven't seen him since the time I left the hospital and it's pricking my heart. “Isn't Dad here yet?” Kendall yawned as she said this but she didn't let her yawn disturb her focus: Zac. She wanted to tell him how everything went at her picnic and her wish to have a little picnic with him and I. She was sleepy but she wouldn't sleep before he came home, or so I thought. Soon, she gave up trying to fight sleep and she let it take over her consciousness. The door slammed open and I thought for a second that it was Zac but it wasn't him: it was Natalie. She looked so worried. “Hi girl. Zac's passport and ID card is ready. I got everything done just in time and his bank account is already set but nobody has seen him.” She came towards me to hold my hands in hopes to calm me down but it wasn't working. I wasn't c
Hailey’s POV.“Cedric?” I stared at him for a while and it made me wonder if it was obvious that I was shocked to see him here. “In the flesh, M’lady.” He chuckled vibrantly. “Oh my goodness!” I screamed loudly and Cedric's chuckle went on. “How are you?” I asked with curiosity filling my eyes. I haven't seen this man in six years and he looked like he had not aged a day. Sweet. “I'm alright, hopefully you're doing well.” He responded with his famous grin. He looked like he was alright so, I knew he really was. “I am.” I said truthfully. I really was doing well, to an extent I was doing well. It was a truthful lie. I wasn't doing well. I missed Zac and it felt like half of my body disappeared. “You look glum. Is everything really okay?” He looked concerned. “Well, I…” “Is it his about Alpha Zac?” He interrupted me and what he had to say caught my interest already. Zac. “What?” “Well, he returned back to the pack yesterday after a long while. He's been out of the pack on a m
Author’s POV(The songs shod be in italics)Brown guilty eyes and little white lies yeah, I played them but I’d always knownThat you talked to her maybe did even worse, I kept quiet so I could keep you. “Oh God, will you ever stop playing this song?” Diana groaned and Natalie took a sip from the soda in her hands while Hailey just stared into the space helpless. Crystal was already informed of the situation and sh come to pick Kendall up from Hailey's house. Kendall can't see her mum in this state. Not now, not ever. “Change it to Vampire by Olivia Rodrigo.” Hailey said, staggering from her sea. She almost fell over but Eliza held her hands and took her to where she was going: the karaoke machine. Hailey bought herself a karaoke machine on the day she got news that Zac wasn't missing but he had gone back to his pack, to Matilda. She gave him a benefit of doubt as Cedric's story wasn't adding up but she was the one missing something. “I used to think I was smart but you made me loo
ZAC’s POV. “Oh Zac!” Matilda ran towards me and hugged me so tightly. “Who are you?” Pretending isn't really my thing and I wondered if I would be able to fool her for long. “Oh my God!” She cried out. We are both actors and this is beautiful. I wanted to laugh so badly but I restrained myself. “You've really lost all your memories.” She didn't release me from her embrace and it disgusted me so I pulled myself away from her. Two can play this game, Matilda. “Well, that's what I've been told although I don't think I've lost them. I'm the alpha of this pack, I know this much and you are…” I trailed off in hopes that she'd say she's the Luna and she didn't fail to do that. “I'm your Luna, Zac” her eyes weiled up with tears. It must be tiring to act this well and maybe I'll consider hosting an awards event in her honor after I oust her. “Oh. Right.” I nodded. “Is there any specific development that has taken place recently that you'd like to inform me?” Developments lik
Hailey's POV. I resumed work at the hospital a week after tearing myself apart. I have to rebuild me for Kendall and me. We have gone back to the beginning, where we only had each other. I still feel him around me and so does Kendall because she tells me he pats her to sleep. Her room is always arranged every morning by the time she wakes up and this a sign that he's still here somehow. He's not even dead and if he was, I would have concluded that his ghost was doing all of this. Kendall disarranged her room every nights o that she can feel connected to him in some way and I do the same thing with the kitchen. I leave greasy plates and pans in the sink because I know they'd be clean and dry ‘miraculously’ by morning. I didn't recognize me anymore after I saw myself two days ago. I looked like a shell and I questioned myself about the existence of the real me. “Hi Hailey. You are on duty this morning so go to the children ward.” Stefan told me as he passed by the nursing station.
HAILEY'S POV.We went to the diner, sneaking in through the kitchen door, all thanks to the fact that Gary knows the owner of the diner and he spoke to him beforehand. Stefan sat on an empty table and we watched diligently as he waited for our dear friend Eliza. My heartbeat became erratic and I was scared that she'd not turn up but knowing that her curiosity is probably eating her up, I became rest assured that she'd show up. She wouldn't miss it for anything, anything at all. No sooner than fifteen minutes, Eliza slammed the door of the diner open. Her dress was as fierce as her emotions. She adorned herself with several pearl jewelries and hair adornment. I could count five hair adornment that were pearl and her two neck pieces were pearl too. We are in for a show today. Her hair was styled to have a side part and curls that cascade her back. Her gown was sparkling: a sparkling gold gown that shone into every eye that cared to look. We cared to look and we were almost blinded by
Author’s POV.Zac's pack isn't the same again. The started a restructuring policy to get things back to order like relieving Cedric of his duties as the acting Alpha and reducing the staff work hours from 18 to 8, which was the initial hour they spent at work before Cedric decided to overwork them. The unmated maids were relieved of their suites and given care at the pack hospital they had to undergo many tests and body examinations to prove they were assaulted. Information were gathered from the victims and some who couldn't talk due to post traumatic stress disorder, they had to hire special therapists to talk to them and make them feel comfortable. While this was going on, Elder Noah was compiling information on the ruthlessness of Cedric and Matilda to submit to Alpha Zac. He was working together with some other Elders to dethrone Cedric and the acting Alpha since all he did was bring laws that condoned his ruthless behavior. Zac on the other hand worried about his daughter and h
