Chapter 16

EMILIA POV

I tried to stand up, but my body caved under the weakness of the heat that was still flowing through my body.

The vampire sniffed the air almost comically, his grin widening even more as he grabbed a hold of the bars I was in.

“You smell delectable,” he commented, but that was in no way meant to be a compliment, and I knew it. It was nothing short of a threat, and this vampire was indirectly telling me that if he eventually got his fangs on me, it would be bad.

“Stay away from me,” I warned, crawling into a far corner of the cell.

“You’re going into the darkness, Emilia,” he said, causing me to gasp in surprise as to how he knew my name.

“How…how do you know my name? What do you want from me? What are you doing here?” I questioned.

“Too many questions, only few answers,” the vampire laughed, roughly tugging at the bars of the cell to scare me, and he knew that it was working.
