EMILIA POV

“What…what does that mean?” I questioned with a look of confusion settling on my face.

“You heard me,” he confirmed with a nod of surety. “We have unfinished business with your Beta now. We need to talk to him about what he saw on that day that makes him believe that you killed his brother. It might have something to do with your powers.”

I thought about it for a moment, but I shook the thoughts off my head. He couldn’t be right.

“Who knows? Maybe when they discovered how powerful you were, they felt threatened by you, and they locked your powers away to make themselves feel better and safer. Perhaps that’s why you don’t remember a thing,” he guessed with a shrug.

I didn’t know whether it was a far reach or not. Everything that had been happening so far, I had not thought they were possible, so who was to say that he wasn’t telling me the half truth, if not the complete truth?
