Chapter 31

EMILIA POV

“We need to leave,” I said as I grabbed Lucas by his arm and looked around for an exit that didn’t consist of going through the front door. “Is there any other way to get out?”

“What if we’re running for nothing? Let’s go check out what’s happening first,” he suggested, but I had a feeling that whatever was happening was not great, and we were in great danger.

“She has to be here, somewhere! Go inside and bring her out!”

I gasped at the voice of the person who had made the loud command – Seth. And there was only one person that he was desperate to catch; me.

“Quick, get out through that door. I’ll hold them off for you,” Lucas said, pushing me towards a door in the kitchen that led into the darkness of the night and the dark forests.

“What about you? What if they attack you?”

I heard the front door burst open, and Lucas took no time to wait and explain one thing. He broke the door open with all his might and pushed me out just as two soldiers ran into the kitchen.
