Chapter 30

EMILIA POV

I stared at my leg in disbelief for a moment. It had healed in only a matter of minutes, and I couldn’t help but believe that it had something to do with the child that was growing inside of me.

“Did you do this?” I asked, smiling as I patted my stomach softly.

As if giving me a response, there was another kick, much heavier this time.

I stood up, still finding little strength in myself to keep going, no matter how hard it would prove to be. I didn’t know how long I walked, but I could feel the soles of my feet hurting with each passing minute.

“Oh,” I gasped as I saw light emanating from somewhere in the forests.

I bent behind a bush to hide, just in case it was one of the soldiers looking for me with a torch, but I soon realized that the light was unmoving. I moved closer with as much stealth as I could, only to find that the light was coming from a small cottage.

There was a group of four man sitting in front of the cottage, talking to each other. They looked like soldie
