EMILIA POV

My feet failed me as I stood, all frozen as I stared at Katarina.

“What do you mean by that? The baby can’t be dead.” I shook my head in denial, but Katarina looked like she had just been hit with the news as well. There was a frown on her face as she grabbed me by the arm and encouraged me to keep walking.

“I already told you, Emilia. You have been difficult this whole time, and your stress levels have spiked beyond what is considered normal, so if we think about this, you’re the one who killed the baby,” she accused, causing me to immediately get my hand out of her grip.

“Are you kidding me right now?” I questioned. “Who put me in the stressful position, Katarina? I know you have the answer to that.”
