Back to New York

Grace's POV

Here I am on my way back to the place I dread a lot.

I sat there in the plane praying for God's help, his protection, and his strength because I was losing it.

Thinking of the same murderer with my innocent and lovely daughter, I could only panic. Why do I feel no matter what, he would still kill her?

A tear fell from my eye again, I have been crying for the past five hours since I knew that Helen was kidnapped.

By morning, I should be back in New York, I'll go to Davis, and I don't care if he kills me as far as he finds my daughter for me.

I couldn't sleep the whole night, my heart was beating so fast, as I shifted restlessly in the plane. How did the beast find me?

I've been hiding here in a foreign country for the past five years and he still finds me? How powerful was this man?

"Madam" I jerked only to see a hostess beside me,

"I'm sorry to scare you, ma'am, would you like a drink?" I shook my head negatively before positioning myself well again on the chair,

"Are you alright ma'am?" She asked and I gulped,

"Yes. Please, you can leave me alone now"

"Are you sure?" She asked and I glare at her. Can she let me be? Fine, my cheeks are stained with tears and so what? Can she help my situation?

Anger rising up in my chest, I turned to give her the piece of my mind but my phone beeped. Picking it up, it says,

"Calm down honey, you won't want to cause a scene" and I gulped before looking around me. Who is this person?

"Ma'am, ma'am,"

"Can you just get out of my sight!" I growl through gritted teeth and she finally walked away.

"You gat to calm down lady," the man beside me said to me and I rolled my eyes. I ignored him only for my eyes to widen,

Was he the one?

I looked back at him to see him reading the magazine he had been with since the journey began.

My heart beating so fast, cold sweat filled my body and my body visibly shaking, I tried to remain as quiet as possible.

When we landed, I rolled my luggage out of the airport looking around. I breathed the air of New York again before shaking my head,

"I hate this place" I murmured to myself before flagging a taxi.

Not knowing where to start, I settled for a hotel first then search for where the man might be. I don't even know where the man leaves, the father of my child, the dangerous mafia lord. The thought of him irked me

Getting into the hotel, I took off my shoes and dived into the bed. I was sleepy, tired, and hungry but I couldn't rest until I find Helen, my baby.

I can't afford to lose another person in my life, I'll die. I started by searching through the internet, I typed,

"Where does Davis live?" As expected from the net, a lot of Davis was brought up for me to see.

"No, no, no" I grumbled as I deleted the all to type something clearer this time,

"Where does Don Davis Stone, the mafia Lord live in New York?" And send.

Error

"What?"

"But I need to know?!?" I snapped.

The idiot who asked me to go meet him didn't even give me an address.

I ran my hand through my hair as I tried not to scream. I was going to run mad any moment from now if I don't find a way.

Just then, a message popped up on my screen. I picked up the phone only to stare at the address of Davis Stone. The idiot had sent it with a picture of a clock,

"Two days to go"

My eyes turned teary but I stood up and quickly wiped them away before changing my clothes.

Dressed in a white polo, black jean trousers, and snickers, I stepped out of the hotel room determined to do anything to save my daughter even if it was to face the devil again.

I called for a cab and told the man where I was going. He looked back at me before asking,

"Are you sure that's where you are going, ma'am?" I nodded

"Yes, take me there"

"I can only stop a few miles away from the place so would that be okay with you?" I raised my brows at that

"Yes, yes," I said to him when I realized there was no taxi driver that would be willing to risk their life by getting so close

The driver back the journey. It was a two and half hour's journey. He stopped along the road,

"This is where I can end"

"That's okay," I said to the man that was sweating already. Like he was going to pee on his pants.

"Get down now," he said to me and I was quick to do so after handing over his money to him. Like a flash, he reverse his car and drove away

I had to walk another long journey before making it to a huge gate. Relieved that I was finally there, I rushed towards the gate. My heart was pounding so loud, I could feel it on my palms,

"What do you want?" The voice is rigid and firm

"Who…" I looked around but there was no one there. That was when I noticed the voice was coming from inside the compound

"Hello, I'm here to see Don Davis"

"I asked who you are. Speak now before I blow your head off

"A friend" I raised a shoulder and that might have been a big mistake because the man replied,

"Or an enemy" I heard the gate open and before I could look at who it was, I was pulled into the compound with guns pointed at my head.

My hands quickly flew up over my head as I stared at over six men surrounding me
