Chapter 3

As soon as Glenn let go of her, she hurried to where the ground had sank, she did not want to consider it, even though every voice in her head screamed the words, a huge tragedy had never hit her and now it was happening in the worst way.

May! May please answer me if you can hear me. She cried out her voice, her head was spinning and she felt like she was going to pass out at any moment, her heart was giving up to the sorrows that flooded in it, she couldn't scream or say a word so she sat there, weeping bitterly and feeling the huge half of her life being taken away. Glenn was in deep pain as well, as he cried out his eyes, he fell to his feet, embracing summer in his arms and she was inconsolable, her tears were melting her soul away and she was never going to recover from this tragedy.

May... She cried out her twins name silently, "The torch Glenn, where is the torch? She said as she desperately searched around her, then her eyes got a glimpse of the tiny light from a distance, they both rushed towards the light source and found the almost dead torch, it's lights blinked weakly before it finally gave up it's existence.

"No! Not now, summer cursed inwardly trying to hit it back to life. Glenn grabbed it from her as she was hitting so aggressively. She wailed out her frustration, the loud sound almost sweeping Glenn off his feet, it felt weird what he had just felt and he was terrifyingly amazed but summer didn't notice the effect her voice had on him. Glenn paused noticing the torch come back to life but it wasn't bright enough to illuminate the dark hole they were about to explore.

"Summer..." He called her attention to it, she slowly turned and when she saw it, she willed against the impossibility and hoped on it for illumination, Glenn handed it over to her and they both hastened back to the hole.

"I can't... I can't see anything Glenn. " She said tears flooding her eyes again. She circled crazily around the hole with so much desperation to find a way out.

"I don't want to leave you here but we have to go back to the camp and seek for help or we might be next."

"Then let me be, I can't do this, I don't want to live on without May, she's everything to me." She confessed bitterly, crying loudly while clutching her chest as if hoping to rip off her heart."

Emily! A male voice had drawn their attention, they heard footsteps from a distance and chattering sounds then more voices calling out their name.

"Help! They both screamed running towards the direction of the sound and it got closer untill they could see numerous torch lights and a brighter light in the middle of the little crowd. The group had sighted them and hastened their steps till they got to them. Shawn who had the brighter light had his eyes popped as he saw the bloody arm of summer and the little blood stains on Glenn. The others were shocked as well.

"What happened here?" Shawn asked his eyes filled with horror.

"Help May... She couldn't complete her words when she almost fell into his arms, he held her tightly and the others came to help him out.

"Hurry! May got buried in the hole over there." Glenn pointed.

"What?" Shawn was horrified at the news then along with the other group they ran towards the hole and what they saw got their jaws dropped.

"What in the hell! Shawn couldn't believe his eyes and Glenn's heart sank, he fell on his feet as tears flowed freely, Summer saw how they all stood unmoved and then she knew the worst had happened, she managed to walk her way to the spot and there she saw May pierced by the hole traps and in that moment she knew she had lost her twin forever.

There was tension and extreme fear amongst them but they knew they had to get help and leave the woods as soon as possible.

"We need to leave here now! A camper yelled.

"Bailey heard right after all, there's something really dangerous with us here." Shawn said almost whispering to himself.

"He's right Shawn we need to head back to camp and call for help. Something bad could happen next." Another camper said.

"Yeah you're right but I'm not leaving here without finding Emily, the rest of you can head back to the camp and alert the others of what is happening and get help immediately, escort Glenn and summer out of here as well.

"How are we going to do that, they are grieving." Shawn's friend John spoke.

"I don't care how you do that but we're are not loosing anymore life's today I'm going to find Emily.

"Are you crazy? On your own? You might as well get killed. No one knows what's become of her. Don't risk your life so stupidily. Shawn let's leave here together while we can. I mean look what's happened to May." He said lowering his voice.

"That's why I'm going alone."

"Shawn...." He called gritting his teeth.

"Keep Bailey safe." He said and finally left leaving John in charge of everything. John felt the huge weight of responsibility on him and he sighed to relieve a bit of the burden from his chest then he looked at Summer whom Glenn held in his arms strongly as she poured out her heart.

"Alright, here we go, get those two, they are coming with us even if we have to drag them." He said pointing at some guys to take charge of it. Then he took in some deep breaths to calm his nerves which did little to help, he was obviously the most frightened having to act as the least knowing he was to be at forefront leading them back to the camp.

Shawn ran through the woods, his breath heavy and his heart racing. He kept screaming Emily's name, his eyes searching randomly for any trace of her. His eyes were getting filled with fluid, he stopped frustrated and feeling guilty that all this was happening because of him. He knew Emily was going through tough times because of his relationship with Bailey, he could see the hurt in her eyes throughout camping and how it was unbearable that night for her, he had been watching the friends quietly from the moment Emily left, he felt the uneasiness amongst them as the argued about her, then they left and a part of him wasn't settled. After he had tried his patience, he lost it, made a deal out of their absence which got the search party out in search of them.

He sat down, his back resting on a tree, his guilt overwhelming him. He could never forgive himself if anything happened to her and in his frail hearted moment he felt a drop of liquid on his head and when he raised his head it dropped on his face even more, he blinked tracing his fingers on his face and when his bright light made it clear he got choked in his throat, shocked unable to voice a scream of fright, then his heads went up again and his torch making visible what look liked a wrapped body and before he could comprehend the situation. It cut loose and fell right on his body. He quivered uncontrollably at the sight of a sucked out lifeless body on top of him. He, with all his might moved it away from him and crawled on his back, his lips vibrating in fear. His motion stopped as he reached an obstacle, those huge legs he didn't hear come in, whatever was standing behind him was sure to show no mercy, a silent growl came soon after and then his screams.
