“Chell,”

“Yes Daddy,” Michell responded as she scrambled out of her bed in a hurry just to meet her dad who just came back from a mission.

Mitchell ran to hug her dad whom she missed so much but she stopped in her tracks seeing how disheveled her dad looked. It seems that the mission her dad went to was not what he expected. His clothes were torn and his body filled with mud, his hair was greasy and she could see some leaves on his hair, she raised her hands to remove the leaves from his hair but he moved back.

“I am a mess, Chell, I just wanted to inform you of my arrival” His voice sounded tired yet happy to his beloved child.

“Of course, you look like a mess, but I've missed you so much and I am so happy to see you, why don't you have your bathe, have your rest and we will talk later,” Mitchell suggested, even though she was a petite 16 years old with almond eyes and blonde hair; half-hearted shaped lips that is dry, she surely is a reasonable girl with a sweet character, in which she earned all of it from her mom.

“Of course, my darling, we have a lot to catch up isn't it, when I'm done we will talk like there is no tomorrow,” Her dad chuckled as he went into the room to have his bath that had been prepared by his loving wife.

After her dad had had his rest, Mitchell jumped on him and clung on like she would never leave him alone.

She loved her dad with all her heart and she wished to be like him when she grew up and that is why she practices hard to be recognized as the next beta of the Westwood pack. Her father is the beta, which makes her the beta daughter.

“I missed you little pumpkin,” Her dad ruffled her hair still holding onto her to refrain her from falling. He surely missed his sweet little pumpkin, whose heart is so soft and calm as the waves in the ocean.

He sometimes wondered if she would be the beta of the pack because of her soft heart.

“But I missed you more,” she pouted which earned a chuckle from her dad.

“Of course I know you do, nobody could beat you in terms of that,” Her dad said with a bright smile.

He was proud of his daughter.

“Now, Mitchell, I need to talk to you about something important,” Her dad, Elliot, dropped her to the couch as he sat opposite her with a serious expression on his face.

Mitchell looked with keen interest, she was curious to hear what her dad wanted to say.

“Do you want to be a beta?” His voice was calm but hardened.

“Yes, I want to be a beta just like you,” her tiny voice filled with determination, Mitchell took that attribute from her father.

Whenever he sets his mind on something, no matter how long it takes, he will surely do it and so is the same for Mitchell.

Like father, like daughter.

“And why do you want to be a beta, You know you can just marry someone that is a beta like me,” Her dad proposed but she nodded her head in negativity.

“No Daddy, nobody can be like you and the reason why I want to be a beta is that I want to be stronger than you so that I would be able to protect you in the future,” Mitchell said with pride as she mimicked her dad when he put his chest forward and his hands on his waist.

The old man laughed heartily, she was his sweet daughter and he would not want her to be in a dangerous situation. He surely wants a strong daughter but it would be preferable if she stays with a stronger man, someone who would be her hero just like him, but Mitchell is so stubborn and she would not listen to him.

“Even if I grow old, I will still be strong,” he told her but she nodded her head weakly.

“No Daddy, you won't be as strong as before, can't you see Grandpa Su, he can't even stand straight, ” she argued pointing out things.

“Alright, but Grandpa Su was not a beta but I agree with you. Now since you want to be a beta so badly, I have a small mission for my small daughter here,” He voiced out and she was thrilled to hear what he wanted to say, her almond eyes bulging out in delight.

“ Do you know, Damon, the alpha's son, I want you to be by his side, protecting him, he is going through a lot and so he needs his mini beta to cheer him up,” her dad proposed.

Mitchell shrieked in laughter, Finally, she got a mission of her own.

She knows Damon, but she had never talked to him since they never crossed paths and she loved to be with her best friend Mika.

“Alright Daddy, I would try my best to be the best beta for Damon,” she said sweetly.

“Of course sweetie, you are meeting him today,” her dad announced and she jumped happily. She rushed to her room to get the best dress in her wardrobe.

Unknowingly for her, that was the beginning of her sufferings.

She never knew it was a demon in human form she was meeting that day and since then life has been hell for her.

[Weeks later]

Damon was having a bad day as usual which made Mitchell worried. She has been trying her best to make him feel ok but he keeps yelling at her.

He even yells at her more than her daddy, but she was patient enough to take all of it in and moreover, he was stronger than her.

“Don't worry Damon, all is going to be well, you just need to calm down and focus on other things to keep you striving, you can't keep staying mad all the time, this is not the end of the world,” Her voice was soft yet harsh, she didn't want to sound rude but that made Damon stopped in his tracks.

They were in the woods together and she could not help but feel terrified.

“What did you just say, you stinky bitch!” Damon yelled as he pulled her hair and yanked it, Mitchell groaned in pain as tears sid down her eyes.

He was hurting her for a reason unknown to her.

Was he offended by her words?

“I-I seriously don't know,” She stammered still in pain as he refused to let go of her hair.

Damon's eyes flashed in anger and the next thing he did got her flying to the next building. Blood spluttered from her mouth, Damon's wolf was already in charge as he leaped to where he threw her.

Mitchell was grateful she was a beta or else that kick could lead to her death, She just got a few of her bones broken but it was still a total disaster.

She cried as she bent her head wondering what Damon would do next, but he just smirked and dashed away leaving her alone to fend for herself.

Thinking he had gone, Mitchell struggled to get up and when she finally did, she turned to go home and her eyes lit up in horror,

“Help me please!!!” Ava screamed her lungs out as she held her chest.
