Fifteen

Alexander's POV

My hands quivered. I didn't want to resort to this but after everything that happened this afternoon, my throat and everything else in me was sore.

"Let me go," she begged. The expression on her face wasn't that of someone who was begging though.

Reluctantly, I released her even though I was still burning with anger.

'You really need to give this woman a break. What is wrong with you?' came Lyall again with his unwarranted talk. It wasn't my fault that she was careless enough to get pregnant.

Both of us stared at each other. I watched the rise and fall of her heaving chest. I felt a little bad that I had to do that but the last person I wanted to see now was Sydney. I could see the hatred in her eyes and surprisingly, it pricked my heart.

Frowning, I went, "Where's my mother?"

Her mouth opened and closed without utterances. "Where is she?" I barked.

Sounds flew from her mouth but still nothing, until she pointed upstairs. What was wrong with her?
