Chapter 4 Nox Greenshade

Queenie got changed and kept watch over the unconscious stranger. He was handsome if anything, and he had the air of a king. If he wasn't out cold, he would be the man of every woman's dream. "Who is he, and why was he in the ocean? And how did he send my family's bodyguards flying that easily?"

Those questions and more were racing in Queenie's mind. Driven by curiosity and something else, Queenie wanted to know more about the man before her, but eventually, Queenie rested her head on the edge of the bed and fell asleep.

She heard something rustle, and groggily, Queenie opened her eyes. What she saw made her shout.

The man had awoken and was standing right in front of her. Scared, Queenie quickly scuttled backward and asked with caution, "W-What do you want?"

The stranger had a dazed look in his eyes. He scanned his surroundings before turning his attention to Queenie. "Who are you? What is this place?" He had a deep, husky voice, but there was confusion in his tone.

"Queenie Sanders," Queenie quickly answered. "I saved you from the sea."

"The sea?" The stranger wondered what she was talking about.

"Yeah. You were floating in the sea. Don't you remember?" Queenie said, trying to jog his memory.

The mention of the sea made the stranger freeze. All of a sudden, screams and shouts exploded in his mind. He saw corpses floating lifelessly in the waters, smoke, and battleships disappearing in an ocean of flames.

So many people died in the fire. In the end, he saw an army of powerful warriors closing in on him on all sides, and they pounced on him.

In the end, he heard something. The people were shouting out to him. "Lord Nox!"

He tried to remember, but then pain burst in his head. It was like his brain was being pierced by knives. The pain was so intense that it almost knocked him out. He held his head, convulsing in agony.

Queenie quickly asked, "What's wrong?"

The stranger took a while to calm down. He rubbed his head, which felt like exploding. "My head hurts."

"You have a headache? Maybe you have a concussion," Queenie said.

"I don't know," answered the stranger, still dazed.

"Why were you in the sea, then? Did you fall into it or…" Queenie continued.

The stranger shook his head. He did not know.

There were many things the stranger couldn't remember. Queenie asked, "What's your name? You know that much, don't you?"

The stranger fell into a stupor for a few moments, and he shook his head again.

Queenie thought, 'Oh no. He's amnesiac. He can't even remember his name.' Suddenly, Queenie was reminded of something.

She quickly went to the side and retrieved the stranger's token for him. "Here. This fell out of you. Do you remember it?"

The stranger paused for a moment, but he took the token in the end. When he saw the words engraved on it, something exploded in his mind, and he remembered a certain memory.

"Nox… Nox… Nox Greenshade."

"Nox Greenshade? Is that your name?" Queenie asked when she heard the stranger utter a strange name.

The stranger had no idea if that was his name, but he kept muttering it under his breath.

"I guess you really did lose your memory."

The stranger remained silent. He stood there in a daze, rubbing his throbbing head.

Queenie had a headache, too. She saved a dying man from the sea, but he lost his memory, and her family thought she had a sordid affair with him.
