CHAPTER 06

AVA:

"I...I want to go home." Whispering, I tried to stand from the bed when I felt that stabbing pain and I winced.

"Take it easy, okay." Alpha Leo said and then firmly held my waist till I was able to stand on my feet.

The Alpha of packs trembled at his feet yet he was treating me so nicely. I couldn't help but think that I was one lucky lady and that he was the one who rescued me.

If I were with an ordinary Alpha, then, Damien would have found me by now.

"Do you want me to inform your Alpha? He could come take over from here." He asked, his eyes not leaving mine.

I vehemently shook my head, "No."

Damien mustn't know that I came here, despite that I was given the chance to experience my past life, I didn't want history to repeat itself.

Damien was abusive even when I was loyal to a fault, who knows what he'd do to me this time if he found out that I spent nights with another Alpha? His evil mind would tell him that I was going after Alpha Leo because he was an Alpha King.

Alpha Leo had that suspicious look in his eyes that probably came from my abrupt refusal to let my mate help me.

"Why? he's your mate and the most suitable person to take care of you,"

"I mean, he could be busy, and so, as a supportive Luna, I wouldn't like to disturb him as I want the best for our pack. I think I'm fit enough to go to my home pack on my own." I said, avoiding his gaze.

I diverted my gaze to the wall clock and noticed it was noon.

I wanted to leave here but before then, I needed to find out how I was here in the first place.

By the time I looked back, Alpha Leo was standing behind me with a tray containing a bowl of soup in his hand.

"You'll take this soup right now and It'll make your stomach stop hurting."

"Thanks but may I ask you a question?" I thought he'd be cold to me as it was typical of Alphas but he wasn't when he said, "Yes, sure."

"How did I get here, I mean, I could remember leaving my pack but not how I ended up here." I had a confused look on my face as I stared at the man who was going to tell me what happened.

At least, I deserved to know what happened so I could tell it to anyone who asked.

"I'll tell you, but you've got to have your soup first." He said and dropped the tray on a nearby table after which he beckoned on me to go sit down.

As I put a spoon of the liquid in my mouth, I watched him, waiting for him to start telling me how I ended up in his house.

"Although I don't know what happened to you, I saw you in a pool of blood, very near the borders of my pack and I took you with me."

I nodded, that was a good explanation he gave there. I could remember running away and trying to escape the harsh realities that surrounded the Blue Crest pack before blacking out.

"I'm done with the soup, thanks, Alpha Leo," I said, got up and bowed slightly. The medicinal soup I took had made my insides strong and I knew that I could hold out stronger than I could before.

"It's Leo to you." He mumbled loud enough for me to hear. My gaze widened and this was because he was the Alpha King, a man whom Alpha's trembled before.

"I would like to leave now, my Alpha must need me by now."

"Alright, I'll escort you somewhere near my pack borders at least." He said and I nodded. If it were his pack borders he wanted to escort me to, then, I'd be okay with that, as long as he had no clue about what I wanted to do.

"Thank you so much, Alpha...Leo." Calling him Leo was still getting new to my tongue.

When we got to the borders of the Blood Crescent pack, Alpha Leo stopped moving and then handed me some medicinal herbs that were dried and packed in a container.

"Take them as I instructed and you'll be as good as new." He told me and I nodded obediently.

"Bye." I waved and started walking away.

ALPHA LEO:

I continued staring at the lady I had just seen off at the borders of my pack when she shifted into her wolf form, got down on all fours, and sped away. She had sure recovered a great deal or she would have had difficulty shifting into her wolf form.

"Ethan." I summoned my Beta and in no time, he was standing beside me with his head slightly bowed.

"Tail that lady who was with me a while ago, she just ran off in that direction." I pointed towards the east and he followed my gaze.

"Yes, Alpha." He said and I turned around to leave. I wasn't going to watch him transform into his wolf form, I had seen him do that many times.

As I was walking into the pack, the various pack members who saw me either bowed, prostrated, or had this look of fear and adoration on their faces.

But then the thought of the lady I was with a while ago resurfaced in my mind and my face turned mysterious.

The lady acted so suspiciously like she was scared to go back to her home pack, and to top it all up, she had insisted on going home alone because her Alpha was busy. No matter how busy with the pack an Alpha was, then he was supposed to have time for his mate and that made me think something was wrong somewhere.

I shrugged as I hoped within me that all would go well with her. I wasn't normally this caring and nice to people but something within me tells me that she was a woman in distress who needed a savior. Something wasn't just right with her.
