Chapter 102
My arm was slung over Kat’s shoulders as she helped me down the stairs. I was limping, my right leg unable to take any weight. She was lucky I wasn’t the size of Ethan. This never would have worked. We reached the bottom floor and I snickered.
“I’m not sure I would be laughing right now.” Kat eyed me worriedly.
I shook my head. “I was just thinking that Ethan might have to go through another shift. He’s really getting the short end of the stick in this whole mate bond thing.”
She snorted and shook her head. “Let’s not go there right now. We need to get you out.”
Opening the front door of the shop, we had a couple different options. We could cross the main road and go into the National Forest. The issue with that was there were camping spots littered all over the place and if I ended up losing myself, I would absolutely scare the shit out of some campers.

Shift Chapter 103
Raine and I laid down together, our paws dipping into the pool. We decided not to go back, at least not yet. It felt good to be in wolf form. It was like we could finally breathe. We’d been holding our breath under water for so many years and now we broke through, able to take a true full breath.
