Chapter 89: The past

Damon’s pov

“Come on, you don’t need to be afraid. It is hard but I believe that you will be able to do it” I said to my little brother who sighed.

“I hate changing into a wolf, but I will do it anyways” he said and then changed into his wolf form.

It’s the only way he will be fast enough to outrun those vampires if they ever caught up to him.

“He is our fastest wolf so don’t worry; he will be just fine” I said to my mother who nodded.

A few minutes later I heard him howl in pain.

“impossible, how is it that he has been caught already?” I asked.

“We shouldn’t have sent him to spy on them, look at that. They will kill my poor boy” my mother said.

“Mother do not worry; I will bring Dan back alive” I said but before I could change into my wolf Dan appeared.

“How irresponsible of you, sending a young kid like him to do your dirty work” a girl said.

Everyone became on high alert, how is it even possible?

How did she arrive her and we didn’t sense her?

She appeared behind a tree.

I checked Dan and realized that he was slightly injured but overall, he is okay.

“Who are you?” I asked her, the aura she has and also her beauty tells me what important fact and that is that she is a witch.

“My name is Scarlet Hale” she said, “Hale?” I heard my mother say.

The Hale family come from a very powerful coven of witches.

They are feared all over the world, they are known to be powerful beyond measure.

Not to mention their beauty, this Scarlet really is beautiful that I can feel myself falling in love.

Such power, such aura and such grace, the way she carried herself made me in awe of her.

Is this what they speak off when they say love at first sight?

“Brother she saved me; those vampires were going to kill me” Dan said after changing back to his human form.

“Why did you save him? Witches, vampires, and werewolves loath one another” I said, and she just shrugged.

“They were loud and honestly their actions were ruining the name of someone really dear to me” she said and then her eyes landed on me.

“There is also something I would like to talk to you about. You are Damon aren’t you? The Alpha King of all werewolves?” she asked me.

“Yes I am, but what is it to you?” I asked and she smiled.

“Everything, from what I see you and your werewolves need help. Witches and vampires have been attacking you from all sides” she said.

Vampires have been killing our kind feeding on our blood because it makes them stronger.

While witches have been killing werewolves for their evil rituals to be even more powerful.

“You are a witch yourself, why would we believe that you aren’t here for the same reason your kind has been killing our kind?” my mother asked her.

She laughed at this, “believe me, I am not short of power” she said.

“But do ponder on it, if you would like to talk to me then we shall talk.

This will benefit both of us” she said and then disappeared.

A powerful Hale witch, what could she want to talk about?

After meeting her I couldn’t get her out of my mind no matter how hard I tried.

A beautiful witch, she isn’t my mate and that I know for certain, but I still couldn’t stop thinking about her.

“Don’t tell me you are thinking of contacting her brother” Dan said.

“She saved your life, and I would like to give her an ear. She will probably solve all our problems” I said.

“I know she saved my life, but at the end of the day she is a witch. She could have done so for her own selfish reasons” he said.

I trust her, for some reason I find myself trusting her and wanting to hear what she has to say.

I walked out and decided to go for a run, before I could change to my wolf form I caught their scents.

Rouges, they are coming this way and that too in large numbers.

Our numbers are already not good at all, we wont be able to fight such a large number of rouges.

Vampires and witches really have done more damage to our numbers and its not good.

“Brother, this is bad” Dan said as the rouges started surrounding us.

“We fight, we are werewolves. We fight even if it kills us” I said.

The pack members all came out ready to fight, we will lose a lot of members if we fight here.

“Really? an attack on your kind? Werewolves are already being killed by others and you want to finish each other off” a female voice said.

She came out behind a tree, graceful and beautiful as always.

I admit that my heart skipped a beat when I saw her again.

“A witch, stay out of grown ups business” the rouge said making her smile.

“All I am saying is that you shouldn’t be fighting one another” she said raising her hands up.

“We want to fight and kill one another and usually majority rules” another rouge said.

“Fine then, I will do one thing for you. I will kill all of you and then we can call it” she said with a smirk.

She then stood in front of me, “let me take care of this, after this you and I need to talk” she said.

They started going after her, the way she fought them was just amazing.

They weren’t getting any close to her, but she was killing them one by one.

Eventually they realized that they are in over their heads and ran off.

She then turned and looked at me, “what do you say? An alliance between us? I just want to help” she said.

“Fine I will listen to what you have to say” I said, and she smiled.

We sat down to talk to her, she told me about her dreams for a united world.

A world where werewolves, vampires and witches get along.

Where we are one, we make decisions together and end all this conflict.

“That is just dreaming, and if we are going to agree to this what do we get from it?” my mother asked her, and she smiled.

“You get this” she said taking out a scroll that had something written on it.

“I will make one of your people a werewolf with sight.

I have been studying how to get abilities from different supernatural being.

I found a way to give other people the gene of sight” she said.

“A werewolf with sight? That doesn’t sound possible” I said, and she smiled.

“It is possible, with a werewolf that can see the future.

You will be able to prepare for war and I will also build a barrier around your pack” she said.

“A barrier?” I asked and she nodded as she looked around.

“If anyone uninvited enters the barrier you will know. So, you will be alerted of the enemy way ahead of time” she said.

“And what do you gain from this? What do you want from this generous deal?” I asked her.

“Well, I need to study you, werewolves are part human and part beast.

I want to see if there is a way for me to be able to recreate that.

To be part something” she said.

it was a good deal, so I agreed to it, and we started working together with her.

She created the barrier as promised and also created werewolves with sight

. Only a certain bloodline reacted well to the seer gene, and she also started studying our DNA as well.

I don’t even know for certain what she was looking for and why.

But every time I saw her I fell madly in love with her, and we got closer.

She saw me as nothing, but a friend and I had hoped that someday I would change that.

That one day when we have managed to unite everyone and make her dream come true we could be together.

That’s until I found out the truth,

that’s until we became such close friends that she told me the truth.

The truth about her romance with the vampire prince and why she is doing all of this.

This shuttered me and also I felt this hatred rise inside of me at the thought.

Vampires have oppressed us and killed our own for centuries.

They drink blood to live, and you are telling me that some spoilt brat prince has the love of someone like her.

He has the love of a woman that I love more than anything.

“Since he is immortal I want to be able to achieve immortality as well.

But I love being a witch, so I am looking to find ways to be a hybrid.

A vampire with witch abilities,” she said with a smile.

She wants to be like them?

To be like those vile dead things that drink blood?

I wont let her.

I will not allow it at all, Scarlet will be my mate and my Queen Luna.
