DRAGON'S SEED II

“I am the father of the child”, Azar spoke up, “but she will not live, she must die”

Ignis looked at him with anger, “You! You are to take after me as the oldest yet you are the one causing me pain. That girl will not die! She is carrying the child of a royal Draego. No one will touch her and she must come here”.

“Ignis, you have to understand that that human will be his weakness and he needs strength”, the empress replied.

Edgan and Zayn turned to Azar, they were trying to think of any human girl they saw him with.

Ignis turned to his wife to reply to her, “If you read that letter, you see that her father is about to sell her off through a marriage alliance to the Slavcan prince, do you want Azar’s child to grow with the Slavcans?”

“Then it's simple, if her survival or her existence will cause us discomfort and trouble then she and her child should die”, the empress replied with equal intensity. She didn’t want a human on their land. She’d rather die than watch Azar couple with a human. If he already impregnated her then she had to die.

“I do not care about what you all have to say”, Ignis replied and then turned to Azar, “Bring her here, we must see her”.

It didn’t take time for the news to spread among the Draego royal family and the Draego elites. Ignis felt that hiding it would only make Azar and his mother look for ways to bury it and he wanted that child.

Azar remembered her clearly, it was hard to forget her. he squinted his eyes while he was lost in his thoughts. He wondered if she was really pregnant or if it was just a plot to get his attention. He knew she was capable of doing things boldly without caring for the consequences just like she slept with him at the inn. He stood up from his bed and rushed out.

His mother, the empress who was waiting for him at the dining hall stood up when she saw him rushing out, “AZar, where are you going to in such a rush?”

“I’m going to bring her here”, he said and rushed out, transforming into his ethereal and majestic black dragon form as befits a royal and flew up.

It was chaos in the Tamar kingdom as a dragon had been in a circular motion in the sky for about 2 minutes.

“My king, what are you waiting for? Order the archers to fire now! Do you want to wait till this kingdom is covered in ashes?”, The chief commander stated with frustration. They were on the castle walls, along with the archers. Everyone was restless. The dragon had come out of nowhere.

“Exercise patience, this is no ordinally dragon. This is a royal dragon, we would gain nothing by attacking. If he came to attack, he would have done so already, it is here for something” King Elliot said calmly. He strongly believed that the dragon wanted something.

“Give it space to land within the castle walls and bring clothings for it”, King Elliot ordered and everyone was shocked.

“You will do no such thing!”, The chief commander screamed angrily.

“Careful now, are you the king or I”, the King replied calmly, “Organise your soldiers to obey my orders. If we don’t invite him peacefully, he will come forcefully and I choose peace”, he said and walked away.

The chief commander stared at his back with a grim expression but still went ahead to carry out the king’s orders.

Rheagal immediately heard of the King’s command and rushed to Kaliyah’s room. Kaliyah had instructed her to keep watch outside and give her updates about whatever was happening. She was sure that her letter had been received and that the dragon had come with a reply. Somehow, she was scared that she would be rejected but she chose to cling to hope.

Rheagal rushed into Kaliyah’s chambers and was quick to close the door behind her, “His Majesty has instructed they give the dragon a chance to land!”

Kaliyah’s expression remained unchanged.

“But Princess, are you sure that dragon is the father of your child? I am so scared for you, will it accept your child? Can dragons mate with humans?”, Rheagal was filled with questions.

“Rheagal, the only thing I am clinging onto…is hope. I have no one and I would choose to live with the dragons than to live with these people that call themselves my family”, Kaliyah said and went to the window, She would see the huge dragon moving in circles in the sky. From afar, its scales still looked bold, she could tell it would be big and rough. It was a royal dragon, hence its majestic look. She could feel the aura from her room. She wanted to meet him personally, She was not sure if this particular dragon was the father of her child but she would immediately be able to tell once it changed.

In a few seconds, she heard the swish of the wind, the dragon landed fast and swiftly and immediately transformed to its human form and was quickly clothed. Kaliyah could not see the dragon transform so she could not immediately tell if it was the one she was looking for or not. Azar was clad in the Tarmar’s robe, his bold and masculine physique could not be hidden. He was quickly directed to the throne room as the king was waiting there, he greeted the soldiers around curtly and continued walking as directed. Everyone he passed was quick to accord him respect because they knew he was no ordinary dragon and that he could do and undo.
