“Mother, what brings you here?”, Azar decided to ask to end the topic of pregnancy and avoid further fight. “To take her, training will begin shortly. I would have sent someone to come take her but I was afraid she’d decline”, the empress said with a smile plastered on her face. “I’m afraid she’d have to skip training for now”, Azar said. Kaliyah had lied to her father that she wanted to go to riding lessons with her friend when they had planned to go for a party at an inn which was supposedly at the border. It was rumoured that people from different clans and kingdoms visited that inn. Brenna rode to her uncle’s house- her mother’s brother. He was part of the king’s court and would know a lot about the Slavcans. He was always one to help her out and accommodate her excesses. When the first queen died, she quickly related her intentions on being the next queen to him and he did his best to make sure she was where she was now.
