DECEIT

"It's not serious, you just need to be on the cast for an additional two weeks and you will come back and it's off," The doctor announced.

"How, I don't think I feel that hard," Isa complained. "Sadly, your body doesn't agree with your statement," Xavier mocked.

"Look, it's just for you to rest, besides our honeymoon was meant for you to rest, if nature is telling you to rest, why fight it," He reasoned.

"I will leave to talk with the doctor, just wait here," He explained, tapping the doctor to follow him.

The moment he stepped out, he had patted the doctor, a smirk played on his face. "Good work, Doc, now she will believe her legs are not fully healed when it's just a minor sprain," he praised.

"Nathan will send you the money, however if you tell her or any other person, if this gets out, then I promise you, I will make life a living hell for you," He threatened, before letting the doctor go.

With a nod, the doctor returned to his office and Xavier returned inside. Seeing Is about standing up, he quickly rushed to her, stopped her and turned her around and pulled her close to him.

And before Isa could process anything, Xavier already lifted her.

Xavier carried Isa to the car, despite her protests. "Put me down, Xavier! I can walk!" she demanded, but he just winked and continued to carry her.

As they reached the car, Nathan, the driver, greeted them with a nod. "Good morning, sir. Good morning, ma'am."

Xavier placed Isa in the back seat and got in beside her. "Where are we going?" she asked, still trying to shake off the sleep.

"A surprise," Xavier replied, his eyes glinting with amusement.

Isa sighed and leaned back in her seat, watching the scenery pass by outside her window. She couldn't help but feel a sense of unease, trapped in this car with a man who seemed to enjoy controlling her every move.

As they drove, Xavier pulled out his phone and dialed a number. "Hey, Chelsea. How are you doing?" he said, his voice low and mysterious.

Isa's ears perked up at the name Chelsea. Who was she, and what did she have to do with Xavier's plan for revenge?

The conversation was brief, but Isa caught a few snippets. "Yes, everything's going according to plan... She's still clueless... Don't worry, I've got everything under control."

Isa's mind raced with questions. What plan? What was Xavier trying to control?

As they continued driving, Isa tried to make small talk with Xavier, but he was evasive and secretive. She couldn't help but feel like she was walking on eggshells around him.

After what felt like hours, the car finally stopped. "This place," she muttered. "I heard this was the first place your mother met your dad, you always wanted to come here right?" He asked, glancing a bit in her eyes.

He was surprised that he didn't get the reaction he wanted. "You do know I'm not poor right?" She snapped.

"Do you think I couldn't take myself here, did you ask me why?" She went on, her anger growing.

"My mom was so foolish to have loved my dad, he was only after her company and the moment she died, he was willing to kill me for the wealth if not what was written in her will, yet you brought me here,"

"It's bad enough you brought me to this city, you made it worse by bringing me here," She yelled.

Xavier didn't utter a word, he could sense the pain in her voice as she spoke. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have," he apologizes, the first genuine apology he ever gave to her.

"Let's go for something simple, I will cook and we have a movie marathon," he suggested, while he started the car.

"And tomorrow, we can go some city else, we will visit museum and trust me, I don't mind carrying you everywhere I go,"

"The thing is, you are a great person and you deserve the best," he immediately, making her mood a bit better.

As he drove, Isa couldn't help but stare at him. He was different from Thomas, his aura more friendly and more sweet.

"What do I have to lose?" She asked herself. "He has his own money so he won't be after mine, he is genuine,"

"He has been broken too, I don't know to what extent, but his willingness to still try, maybe I should reduce my wall," she thought a bit more, before looking at him, slowly buying the idea of watching a movie with him.

However, to Xavier, he had to fight her beauty, warm smile and her gorgeous eyes.

He had once loved her, back in their highschool, he had once doted on only her, but what did it get him.

Her mother killed his parents and buried them like nothing happened, just because they weren't rich enough.

Now, even though her mother wasn't alive, even though an accident took her memory, he will not let this slide.

She did nothing for him, she watched him protest for his parents right and mocked him.

No, you can't make the same mistake twice, she needs to experience your pain.

You fell in love with her and she broke you, you need to make her fall in love, only then will she feel the same pain you had felt.

And then she won't be able to leave, not because of the contract. He had made sure she only had to stay with him.

"When the time is ripe, your revenge will come into play," he mumbled, looking back at her sleeping.

He felt like strangling her to end it quickly but no, she doesn't deserve an easy death.

He noticed it in her eyes as they dropped back, her gaze softened, it was left for him to give her the confidence to confess her love.

With her thinking her legs are injured, she will only look up to him. A smirk played on his face as he worked into the bathroom.

The fact his revenge was near got him smiling.
