MIRANDA'S POV

I couldn't believe Velma did that to me. I may not be Nigel, but I was good to her. I was a darn great friend to her. I even spent a fortune on her birthday gift. I got her painting utensils, the whole nine yards after she told me she liked painting. I even made her see herself as the wonderful girl she is. I ran until I realized I was at the bench near the maze. I sat down and sobbed.

“Hey, stop that,” Taurus commanded. "I get that you're hurt, but Men Don't Cry. At least alpha Men Don't.”

“I'm sorry, I can't help it,” I sniffled. “I'm just so hurt.”

“I know. I feel your pain. Just know Velma didn't mean it. She's just irritated about the situation. She'll come around.”

“You think so?” I asked.

“I know so.” He tried the cheer me up. I thanked Taurus for the pep talk and asked him to give me some time. I just wanted to be alone.

“Hey, Miranda. Are you OK?” I looked over my shoulder to see Nigel running up to me, winded. “I really need to get your body in shape."
